Updated (22/03/2017): Netflix has announced that season 2 will be on Netflix from April 12th.
DC Legends of Tomorrow has been streaming on Netflix for a few months now meaning most have gotten the chance to catch up and be introduced to the Legends of Tomorrow. Now it’s time to find out when season 2 of DC’s Legends of Tomorrow will be coming to Netflix and we’ve got great news as you don’t have that long to wait.
This show makes the current CW tally of DC titles up to four concurrent series which is fantastic and beats the Netflix Marvel series which only gets two new seasons each year. DC Legends of Tomorrow sits alongside The Flash, Supergirl and Arrow on The CW for an explosive year of superhero action and Netflix will remain the home for all four of these series in 2017, at least in the United States.
Season 2 has our globetrotting superhero group travel both the world and time meeting the likes of Albert Einstein, Adolf Hitler and yes, in turn, Nazi Zombies.
DC Legends of Tomorrow Season 2 on Netflix US
The first season arrived in the usual October releases this year and moving forward we’d ordinarily predict that October 2017 would be the release date but this year is slightly different.
A new deal struck in the summer between The CW and Netflix meant that we’d be getting new seasons added around 8 days after the season finale. This applies to season 5 of Arrow, season 2 of Supergirl and season 3 of The Flash.
The new season has different air times to the original one. Season 1 ran between January 2016 and May 2016 whereas season 2 started airing in October 2016 and is scheduled to finish in March 2017. After that, we just have to add a week or so and we’ll have our Netflix release date. With that, we predict that season 2 of DC’s Legends of Tomorrow will come to Netflix US in April/May 2017.
DC Legends of Tomorrow Season 2 on Netflix UK
As for those in the United Kingdom, unlike a lot of CW shows you won’t be getting this one on your Netflix region at all. Why not? Well, Sky purchases all of the DC licensed shows from CW instantly including Arrow, The Flash and Supergirl.
What do you think about the new arrangement between Netflix and The CW? Are you happy to be getting the new season earlier than normal?
