Just like that, we’re into a brand new year! 2026 is here, and while the full slate for the year has yet to be fully unveiled, we’ve already got your comprehensive preview of what’s set to arrive throughout the first month of the year. Below, we’ll walk you through all the new movies and series arriving throughout January, whether they’re Netflix Originals or licensed titles.

We should also note that January 2026 is going to be a hectic month for removals from Netflix, as we’re tracking here. Over 150 movies are leaving Netflix on January 1st alone, and plenty of big series are scheduled to depart throughout the month, too. So while you’re planning on what to watch from the new arrivals, don’t forget any last-minute watches of what’s set to leave too.

12 Years A Slave (2013) – The stunning Steve McQueen biopic movie based on the memoir by Solomon Northup. Set before the Civil War, the movie follows a free black man who was stolen and sold into slavery.
30 Minutes or Less (2011) – A pizza delivery driver is forced into a bank-robbery scheme after criminals strap a bomb to his chest. Jesse Eisenberg and Aziz Ansari star, with Ruben Fleischer directing.
Becky (2020) – Lulu Wilson and Kevin James headline this unlikely COVID horror thriller that sees a young girl’s weekend at a lake house with her father turn into a nightmare.
Bleeding Tiger: Resolution (2025) – Malaysian action film.
Brüno (2009) – Sacha Baron Cohen plays a flamboyant Austrian fashion journalist who embarks on outrageous stunts across America in this satirical mockumentary directed by Larry Charles.
Colombiana (2011) – After witnessing her parents’ murder, a young woman grows into a skilled assassin seeking revenge. Zoe Saldaña stars, produced by Luc Besson and directed by Olivier Megaton.
Conan the Destroyer (1984) – Conan sets out on a mystical quest to retrieve a magical relic while battling monsters and wizards. Arnold Schwarzenegger returns as the iconic warrior, with Richard Fleischer directing.
Dawn of the Dead (2004) – Survivors of a zombie outbreak take refuge in a shopping mall as society collapses around them. Zack Snyder directs this modern reimagining starring Sarah Polley and Ving Rhames.
Detective Conan (Collection 3) – Newly remastered episodes of the classic anime series.
Dr. Seuss’s Red Fish, Blue Fish (Season 2) Netflix Original – More animated adventures set in the world of Dr. Seuss.
Despicable Me (2010) – Gru, a supervillain planning to steal the moon, finds his life changed when he adopts three orphaned girls. Steve Carell voices Gru, directed by Pierre Coffin and Chris Renaud.
Despicable Me 2 (2013) – Gru is recruited by the Anti-Villain League to help stop a new supervillain while juggling fatherhood. Steve Carell returns, directed again by Pierre Coffin and Chris Renaud.
District 9 (2009) – After extraterrestrial refugees are forced into slums in South Africa, a bureaucrat begins to transform into one of them. Directed by Neill Blomkamp and starring Sharlto Copley.
Dune (????) – Currently unclear which version.
Erin Brockovich (2000) – A determined legal assistant uncovers a major water contamination case, leading a fight against a powerful corporation. Julia Roberts stars in this Steven Soderbergh-directed drama.
Facing the Giants (2006) – Sports drama from Alex and Stephen Kendrick. A losing coach with an underdog football team faces their giants of fear and failure on and off the field to surprising results.

Falling Skies (Seasons 1-5) – From executive producer Steven Spielberg, this sci-fi series sees a professor using his knowledge of military history to strike back against an alien invasion.
Ford v. Ferrari (2019) – Matt Damon and Christian Bale star in this roaring true story about the maverick team who set out to build a revolutionary race car for Ford and challenge Ferrari at the 1966 Le Mans.
Forever My Girl (2018) – A country music star returns home after years away and reconnects with the love he left behind. Alex Roe and Jessica Rothe star in this romantic drama.
Free Solo (2018) – A gripping documentary following climber Alex Honnold as he attempts to scale El Capitan without ropes. Directed by Elizabeth Chai Vasarhelyi and Jimmy Chin.
Ghostbusters: Answer the Call (2016) – Melissa McCarthy, Kristen Wiig, Leslie Jones, and Kate McKinnon lead this spirited reboot about a quartet of paranormal investigators who unite to save New York when ghosts overrun the city.
Green Room (2015) – A punk band witnesses a crime at a neo-Nazi venue and must fight to survive. Directed by Jeremy Saulnier and starring Anton Yelchin, Imogen Poots, and Patrick Stewart.
Harry and the Hendersons (1987) – A family accidentally hits a Sasquatch with their car and brings the gentle creature home, leading to chaos and connection. John Lithgow stars in this family comedy.
Hellboy (2004) – A demon raised by humans becomes a defender against supernatural threats. Directed by Guillermo del Toro and starring Ron Perlman and Selma Blair.
Johnny Mnemonic (1995) – A data courier with a cybernetic brain implant becomes the target of assassins while carrying sensitive information. Keanu Reeves stars, directed by Robert Longo.
Just Go With It (2011) – A plastic surgeon convinces his assistant to pose as his soon-to-be-divorced wife to cover a lie while vacationing in Hawaii. Adam Sandler and Jennifer Aniston star, directed by Dennis Dugan.
Lies We Tell (2017) – Gabriel Byrne and Sibylla Deen anchor this brooding British thriller where a trusted driver becomes entangled in a dangerous web of secrets after his billionaire employer dies unexpectedly.
Lone Survivor (2013) – Based on a true story, a Navy SEAL team on a covert Afghanistan mission fights overwhelming odds after being ambushed. Directed by Peter Berg and starring Mark Wahlberg.
Love from 9 to 5 (Season 1) Netflix Original – Mexican sitcom comedy. A hardworking employee and the boss’s charming son compete for the CEO position at a major underwear company, but romance threatens to sabotage them.
Man on Fire (2004) – Denzel Washington delivers a blistering turn as a burned-out bodyguard who unleashes righteous fury across Mexico City after the young girl he vowed to protect is kidnapped.
Monty Python’s The Meaning of Life (1983) – The Monty Python troupe explores life, death, religion, and everything in between through irreverent sketches and songs. Directed by Terry Jones and Terry Gilliam.
Mr. Malcolm’s List (2022) – Freida Pinto and Ṣọpẹ́ Dìrísù charm in this Regency romance about a society bachelor with exacting standards and the woman recruited to expose his flaws, only for real feelings to complicate the ruse.
My Girl (1991) – A young girl navigates friendship, grief, and coming-of-age challenges during a transformative summer. Starring Anna Chlumsky and Macaulay Culkin, directed by Howard Zieff.
My Korean Boyfriend (Season 1) Netflix Original – K-drama inspired reality series where Brazilian women go to meet their crushes in South Korea.
Only the Brave (2017) – Josh Brolin, Miles Teller, and Jennifer Connelly headline this powerful true-story drama following the Granite Mountain Hotshots, an elite firefighting team facing unimaginable danger on the front lines.
Physical: Welcome to Mongolia (Season 1 – New Episodes Weekly) – Food and travel reality series.
Pitch Perfect (2012) – A college freshman joins an a cappella group striving for musical glory while battling rival teams. Starring Anna Kendrick and Rebel Wilson, directed by Jason Moore.
Pitch Perfect 2 (2015) – Anna Kendrick, Rebel Wilson, and the Barden Bellas return in this musical comedy sequel that sends the a cappella champions to a global stage where they aim to reclaim their harmony and their pride.
Priscilla (2023) – Cailee Spaeny leads Sofia Coppola’s intimate biographical drama that traces Priscilla Presley’s life inside Graceland, exploring the pressures, power imbalances, and private moments behind an American myth.

Run Away (Limited Series) Netflix Original – The latest British adaptation of one of the many books from Harlan Coben.
The Miracle Season (2018) – Helen Hunt and Erin Moriarty star in this uplifting sports drama about a high school volleyball team that must rally together after tragedy, finding strength, unity, and purpose as they fight for a championship season.
The Vanishing of Sidney Hall (2017) – Mystery drama starring Kyler Chandler and Elle Fanning about an author who goes missing and a detective finally gets back on the case after a string of arsons.
Time Flies (Limited Series) Netflix Original – Argentinian book adaptation series about two women running a fumigation business after getting out of prison.
Transformers: Earthspark (Season 3) – Animated kids series.
Twins (1988) – Two unlikely twin brothers, separated at birth, reunite and set off on a comedic adventure. Arnold Schwarzenegger and Danny DeVito star, directed by Ivan Reitman.
Wild Things (1998) – A steamy thriller involving accusations, manipulation, and hidden agendas in a wealthy Florida town. Starring Neve Campbell, Denise Richards, and Matt Dillon; directed by John McNaughton.

What’s Coming to Netflix on January 2nd

After the Quake (2025) – Japanese drama. Four strangers’ lives intersect over three decades as they confront grief and hope after the 1995 Kobe and 2011 Tohoku quakes and the COVID-19 pandemic.
Found (Seasons 1-2) – Crime drama series that was recently canceled by NBC. As her crisis management firm searches for missing people, Gabi demands help from a secret source: her own former kidnapper, now captive in her basement.
Grizzly & The Lemmings (Season 4) – Kids’ animated series.

Land of Sin (Season 1) Netflix Original – Swedish crime drama set over the course of 5 episodes, following the investigation of a young teenager who is found dead on the Bjäre peninsula.
Your Turn to Kill (Season 1) – Japanese mystery drama starring Tomoyo Harada and Kei Tanaka.

Defying Destiny (Season 1) Netflix Original – Colombian book adaptation series. When a teen pregnancy derails Maria’s dreams of teaching, her grit proves to be her strength as she champions women’s rights and a better future.
Under The Silver Lake (2018) – A24 mystery thriller about a slacker searching Los Angeles for his missing neighbor. Starring Andrew Garfield and Riley Keough.
