The 2025 theatrical releases are finally rolling in! Plus, Netflix debuted a new Original teen romance film and the second installment in a popular Original crime series. Here are all of the Indian movies and series added to Netflix in March 2025.

New Indian Movies on Netflix: March 2025

Vidaamuyarchi (2025)

Languages: Tamil, Hindi, Kannada, Malayalam, & Telugu

Genre: Action, Mystery | Added to Netflix: March 3

Vidaamuyarchi (“Perseverance“) is the first movie from the slate of South Indian theatrical acquisitions Netflix announced in January to make its streaming debut. The film is inspired by the 1997 Kurt Russell film Breakdown. Arjun and Kayal are married and living in Azerbaijan. Their car malfunctions on a final road trip before their divorce, and a helpful couple gives Kayal a lift to a cafe to call for help. When Arjun reaches the cafe and Kayal isn’t there, he sets out get her back, no matter the cost. Additional dialogue options can be chosen in the movie’s audio menu.


Thandel (2025)

Thandel (“Captain of the Boat“) is another movie from the above-mentioned South Indian theatrical slate. After ignoring his beloved Satya’s pleas to find a terrestrial job, Indian fisherman Raju is arrested when his ship strays into Pakistani waters. Stranded in a foreign land, Raju must find his way back to Satya and make things right. The impressive song sequence “Namo Namah Shivaya” features a cast of 900 supporting dancers. Producer Karan Johar is known for launching the acting careers of children from famous film families. His latest job-placement program is Nadaaniyaan, which marks the acting debut of Ibrahim Ali Khan, son of Sacred Games star Saif Ali Khan. Ibrahim plays a scholarship student at an elite Delhi high school who gets paid to pretend to be the boyfriend of one of his rich classmates (played by Khushi Kapoor, Sridevi’s daughter, who debuted in the 2023 Netflix star-kid vehicle The Archies). Azaad (2025)

Azaad (“Freedom“) is yet another launch vehicle for celebrity kin. This time, debutant Aaman Devgan — nephew of Ajay Devgn, who is also in the film — plays a rebellious young man who secretly trains a rebellious horse named Azaad under the brutality of British-ruled India.


Emergency (2025)

Director: Kangana Ranaut
Cast: Kangana Ranaut, Anupam Kher, Satish Kaushik
Genre: Biopic, Drama | Added to Netflix: March 13

Though actor Kangana Ranaut seized directorial control of some of her previous films, Emergency is the first project she officially helmed as solo director. She also stars in the movie — which she co-wrote with Mili scribe Ritesh Shah — playing the role of Indira Gandhi, India’s prime minister during a two-year period of rule by decree in the 1970s.


Officer on Duty (2025)

Deputy Superintendent of Police Hari’s fiery temper gets him demoted and reassigned to a small station. While investigating a seemingly simple case of counterfeit jewelry, he uncovers connections to a gang that deals in trafficking and exploitation, as well as links to his own traumatic past. Dragon (2025)

Genre: Coming-of-age, Romantic Comedy | Added to Netflix: March 20

Dragon is another of the films in Netflix’s slate of 2025 South Indian theatrical acquisitions. Story co-writer Pradeep Ranganathan stars as “Dragon,” a former goody two-shoes who reinvents himself as a bad boy in order to increase his romantic prospects at college. The plan backfires when he flunks out, and his girlfriend Keerthi gets a marriage proposal from a guy with a good job. Dragon fakes his way into an even better job, but soon his lies catch up with him. Additional dialogue options can be found in the film’s audio menu.


Deva (2025)

Director: Rosshan Andrrews
Cast: Shahid Kapoor, Pooja Hegde, Pavail Gulati
Genre: Action, Thriller | Added to Netflix: March 27

Malayalam-language director Rosshan Andrrews remakes his 2013 action flick Mumbai Police as Deva, his first foray into Hindi films. The reboot — which has a different climax than the original — stars Shahid Kapoor as Dev, a maverick police officer who’ll stop at nothing to unravel the web of lies surrounding a high-profile case, even after an accident leaves him with amnesia. New Indian Series on Netflix: March 2025

Crime Patrol: City Crime (2025)

Genre: Crime, Reality | Added to Netflix: March 16

For two decades, Crime Patrol has recreated India’s most sensational cases in dramatic fashion. City Crime is the show’s eighth season and is hosted by actor Nakuul Mehta. Netflix is dropping episodes of this limited series in batches of five episodes on Sunday or Monday (depending where you are in the world), with episodes averaging about 45-minutes each.


Khakee: The Bengal Chapter (2025)

Languages: Hindi, Bangla, English, Spanish, Tamil, & Telugu

Episodes: 7
Cast: Jeet Madnani, Prosenjit Chatterjee, Saswata Chatterjee
Genre: Crime, Political Thriller | Added to Netflix: March 20

Khakee: The Bengal Chapter is the second installment in series creator Neeraj Pandey’s crime franchise, though the story has no connection to 2022’s Khakee: The Bihar Chapter. This time the action relocates to Kolkata, where the police are tasked with solving a political kidnapping orchestrated by a dangerous crime boss.
