Love him or hate him, Donald Trump is here to stay for a while at least, he’s undoubtedly one of the most controversial figures of all time. While we won’t get too much into the politics in this post, we thought it’d be good to highlight the various documentaries that cover the 45th President of the United States.
Just a quick note: quite of the documentaries don’t exactly cover the President in a positive light and as a result, we’re expecting firey comments. Tread carefully!
Here are all the documentaries that cover Donald Trump currently streaming on Netflix.
Dirty Money (Season 1 – Episode 6)
Netflix Original
Dirty Money, which released earlier this year is perhaps one of the best docuseries added this year. Each of the six episodes covers some kind of scandal which involves big money. What’s quite remarkable is how the series presents the facts but essentially ends the episode leaving the verdict down to you as in most cases, it’s more of a moral issue than legal.
The final episode of season 1 covers Trumps earlier business life where he managed to build an empire with questionable techniques and potentially shady deals. It covers his bankruptcies and how he became the Donald Trump we all know today.
Trump: An American Dream (Docuseries)
Netflix Original only in the US
Released: March 2018
This documentary series comes from the United Kingdom’s channel 4 who have produced some fantastic documentaries over the years. In fact, they were the news team that really broke the Cambridge Analytica story a few weeks back. This series, much like Dirty Money, goes into a deeper dive into Trump the businessman through its multi-episode docuseries. Although the series leans, especially in the end to focus on the negative aspects of his career, the series does mostly stay neutral.
Moreover, this series takes more of an effort to see how his business days reflects in this politician days we’re experiencing now.
Get Me Roger Stone
Netflix Original Worldwide
Released: 2017
One of the men behind Donald Trump’s political career is arguably Roger Stone. Roger is a political consultant, author and lobbyist who has been for decades encouraging Donald Trump to run for president. The documentary takes a look at Roger’s career plus his influence over Donald Trump too. Of course, Roger Stone is quite a controversial character too with a shady past plus his name currently being muddied through the waters in the current news cycles too.
The Naked Truth (Season 1 – Episode 9)
Released: 2016
This forty minute episode of a 10 episode series is one of the more positive pieces on Donald Trump currently on Netflix. The episode was in fact nominated for an Emmy and speaks to Trump voters about why they voted for him. It also takes a broader look at America as a whole plus in-depth coverage of the run-up to the 2016 election.
