Ransom Canyon Best New Series On Netflix In April

Picture: Netflix

Netflix has an incredibly exciting slate of new and returning TV series coming up in April 2025. From the final season of You, to the triumphant return of Charlie Brooker’s Black Mirror — here’s 8 upcoming series that you need to have on your watchlist!

2025 has gotten off to a pretty spectacular start for Netflix. The streamer has already stumbled on some big winners, with original dramas like Cassandra, Toxic Town, and of course, Adolescence. As we move into April, there are some standout shows to look out for, particularly in the science fiction and fantasy space. Let’s take a tour and remember, you can find the full list of new arrivals for the month here.

Devil May Cry

Coming to Netflix: April 3

Based on the beloved Japanese video game franchise of the same name, Devil May Cry is an urban fantasy following demon hunter Dante, the world’s only hope of survival when a villain threatens to open up the gates of Hell.

The series is created by Adi Shankar (Dredd, The Guardians of Justice), who sees it as part of his larger “Bootleg Multiverse”, alongside Netflix’s other series Castlevania and Castlevania: Nocturne.

Pulse

Coming to Netflix: April 3

Created by Emmy-winner Carlton Cuse and writer Zoe Robyn, Pulse follows Dr. Danielle “Danny” Simms (Willa Fitzgerald), a third-year resident and member of Maguire Medical Center’s medical team — Miami’s busiest Level 1 Trauma Center. The medical drama follows Simms and her co-ER residents as they navigate not only medical crises, but the trials and tribulations of their personal lives.

“You don’t really want to be in the hospital. But if you were in the hospital — this is the one you would want to be in,” co-creator Zoe Robyn teased to Netflix’s Tudum. “You want to be in the care of these people.”

Believe it or not, Pulse is Netflix’s first English-language medical procedural. Given the success of other medical dramas on the streamer, it’s easy to see this being a standout success.

Black Mirror (Season 7)

Coming to Netflix: April 10

Charlie Brooker’s Black Mirror is one of the most successful anthology series in the world. The mind-bending, shocking and highly disturbing drama never fails to captivate fans with its chilling stories. The upcoming seventh season will consist of 6 new episodes — one more than the 5-episode season 6!

The new season boats an absolutely stacked cast, including Peter Capaldi, Awkwafina, Emma Corrin, Milanka Brooks, Osy Ikhile, and so many more.

The new episodes feature the typical technologically-enthused stories. And for the first time in Black Mirror history, we’re getting a sequel. The follow-up takes us back to fan-favorite season 4 episode USS Callister!

The Gardener

Coming to Netflix: April 11

Described by Netflix as a romantic thriller, six-episode Spanish series The Gardner comes to Netflix on April 11th. The series follows Elmer (Álvaro Rico), the son of a domineering mother, La China Jurado (Cecilia Suárez) — who is not only a garden centre manager, but also the purveyor of a murder-for-hire business.

While the business may be thriving, Elmer is caught in a dilemma when he falls in love with Violeta; a lady that his mother is inclined to kill. His dilemma is one that puts the entire family business, and its innocent garden centre front, under threat.

The Diamond Heist

Coming to Netflix: April 16

Executive produced by none other than Guy Ritchie (The Gentlemen), The Diamond Heist chronicles the attempted robbery of a priceless diamond. It’s a documentary series, based on one of the biggest gem raids ever attempted in Britain. The diamond in question is the Millennium Star, worth £350 million, housed inside the Millennium Dome for an exhibition. The miniseries is told by the accounts of both the gangster perpetrators and the police who investigated it, and features never-before-seen images and surveillance footage.

2025 has been a standout year for British dramas on Netflix. Might this be another jewel in the crown?

Ransom Canyon

Coming to Netflix: April 17

With recent shows like Territory (which was recently cancelled) and American Primeval, Netflix has been really leaning into westerns and neo-westerns in recent years. The latest genre release is Ransom Canyon, a romantic western based on the bestselling 2015 novel, and subsequent novels, by Jodi Thomas. The series puts a contemporary family drama spin on the western style, following the lives of three ranching families in Texas Hill Country.

The series is led by Josh Duhamel (Transformers, Life as We Know It), who plays rugged and resilient Staten Kirkland, the owner of Double K Ranch. This steamy, emotional western is undeniably one of Netflix’s most-anticipated shows of April 2025. Will it live up to the hype? Let’s hope so!

You Season 5 (the final season)

Coming to Netflix: April 24

Netflix’s wildly popular crime romance series You will return for its fifth and final season. After Joe Goldberg’s London foray has concluded, he’s back in the US!

The final season has notably seen some big changes from behind the cameras. After season 4, showrunner Sera Gamble stepped down from the role, and the showrunner responsibilities have fallen to Michael Foley and Justin W. Lo.

Fans can’t wait to see what’s in store for the final season. Will Joe’s past catch up to him?

The Eternaut

Coming to Netflix: April 30

Based on the beloved Argentine comic series by Héctor Germán Oesterhel, The Eternaut is set on the backdrop of a deadly snowfall that ravages Earth’s population. Our protagonist Juan Salvo and his group of survivors soon encounter that the toxic snowfall isn’t the only deadly thing out in the wilderness — an alien menace lurks in the snowy landscape.

The Eternaut could be one of Netflix’s breakout science fiction shows of 2025. If it lives up to the immense reputation of the comics, we have a new hit on our hands.
