XO, Kitty was given a season 2 renewal last year, but we’ve heard very little about where the new season is in development or when we can expect cameras to start rolling – that’s until now! What’s on Netflix has learned that the show looks at a three-month filming window beginning in April 2024 and that casting is underway.
In case you missed it, XO, Kitty was given a season 2 renewal order just a month after season 1 premiered, and it should come as no surprise as to why. The show pulled in good numbers for the streamer, but since that renewal, all has been quiet on what’s next for the show.
Anna Cathcart returns for the new season as Kitty, Minyeong Choi, Gia Kim, Sang Heon Lee, Anthony Keyvan, Peter Thurnwald, and Regan Aliyah will also reprise their roles. Sascha G. Rothchild and Jennifer K Han continue as showrunners.
When will XO, Kitty Season 2 begin production?
Once again, primarily in South Korea, the new season is set for a three-month filming stint between April 2024 and June. That’s subject to change, of course, and we’ll have more firm dates when we’ve got them.
Three New Characters To Feature in XO, Kitty Season 2

First up, we’ve got a new series regular by the name of Sophie, described as a Korean American teen girl originally from Ohio. Sophie is a last-minute transfer on an exchange program through her Korean church.
Another series regular for season 2 will be Mr. Choi, a big talent manager funding a new arts program at K.I.S.S described as handsome but also a charming narcissist who is definitely a ladies’ man.
Finally, we’ve got a recurring guest star for the final season called Young, one of the people vying to become captain of the track team in season 2. He’s naturally competitive, described as Queer, and serves as a main rival to one of our main protagonists.
Will XO, Kitty season 2 be released in 2024?
At the moment, the show is expected to be among the 2025 slate, given that it was omitted from the recent slate reveal for 2024, where over 90 shows were confirmed for this year. That said, Netflix prefaced that slated reveal with the fact that “Titles and dates are subject to change” and that “not all titles for 2024 are included.”
