One of Netflix’s most-watched documentary series of 2022 is set to make its grand return in June 2024. We’ve learned that Worst Roommate Ever will return for season 2 on June 26th, 2024.

Update – May 21st – Blumhouse and Netflix have now released a first-look trailer for the upcoming second season.

Releasing in March 2022, the five-episode mini-series followed four stories (the final story was split into two parts) covering numerous killers, con men, or criminals, including Dorothea Puente, K.C. Joy, and Jamison Bachman.

Domini Hofmann directed all five episodes of the first season.

Season 2 will follow the same formula with another batch of stories, although exact details, screenshots, and videos have yet to be released. We’ll update you once we know more.

The first season did good numbers for Netflix and even scored well with critics and audiences. It holds a 7.0 on IMDb at the time of writing based on 10k reviews.

It spent two weeks in the Netflix global top 10s with 78,670,000 viewing hours globally. It also spent two weeks in the Nielsen top 10s, being watched over 26.47 million hours.

The series went on to be one of the most popular docu-series of 2022, ranking fourth on the FlixPatrol charts behind Harry & Meghan, Formula 1: Drive to Survive, and Conversations with a Killer: The Jeffrey Dahmer Tapes. Per FlixPatrol, the show featured in the top 10s in 77 countries.

Most critics’ reviews were also positive, with our friends at ReadySteadyCut saying that the series “will shock and stun you,” adding that it’s a great watch and “will definitely hit your crime series fix.” The outlet also speculated that more episodes would come in the future if these problems were widespread enough.

Blumhouse Television is behind the production of the series and produces both scripted drama and documentary series for a slew of streamers and distributors with other well-known titles, including the Amazon Original The Horror of Dolores Roach, FX’s A Wilderness of Error, and MGM+’s Blumhouse’s Compendium of Horror.
