One of the most popular anime franchises of the past decade, One Punch Man has been one of the most streamed anime titles on Netflix to date. With the highly anticipated release of the second season imminent, fans have been asking if and when will the second season of One Punch Man be coming to Netflix.
One Punch Man is a superhero-parody anime series based on the manga of the same name. Soon after the manga launched in 2012, the series went viral and it wasn’t long before fan demands for an anime were granted. With the release of the anime series in 2015, the franchise’s popularity skyrocketed into the stratosphere. Once One Punch Man arrived on Netflix in the United States and the UK, the popularity of the series grew further still.
In the United States, One-Punch Man actually resides on three streaming services at the moment. It’s on Crunchyroll, Hulu, and Netflix. This is typically rare as each streaming network tends to like to keep its content exclusive.
Both the United States and Canada received Season 1 in March 2017. The UK Netflix library had the title added in April of 2018. In that time due to licensing, the series has been scheduled to leave but ultimately Netflix was more than willing to pay the price of renewal for one of the most popular titles on the service.
When is the release of One Punch Man Season 2?
In a tweet released by Viz Media in August 2018, they confirmed that Season 2 release date is for April 2019! Now for English audiences, it is highly likely the Japanese Dub will be available exclusively on the streaming service Crunchyroll but for fans of the English dub, the question is will it be coming to Netflix?

For North American audiences this may not be the case as Viz Media has acquired the exclusive rights for broadcast, digital streaming, and merchandising rights whether or not they plan to give Netflix the availability to stream season 2 is currently unknown. When One Punch Man was first released to American audiences it was originally streamed on Hulu, could we see a potential return to Hulu for Saitama?

Potential Release Date
We’re certain that Season 2 of One Punch Man will arrive on Netflix eventually. The Only issue is the infrequency in which anime seasons arrive on the streaming service, making it harder to speculate. Netflix is still a long way off from receiving the second season of One Punch Man. After the release of One Punch Man Season 1, Netflix didn’t receive the title for over 2 years, therefore, we believe the same may happen again for Season 2.
It is unknown for European audiences if Netflix will pick up the rights to stream the second season of the anime. You can still watch One Punch Man season one on Netflix but we’ll keep you up to date if anything changes and hopefully we’ll soon be seeing Saitama on our screens again very soon!
