Glass is the new superhero movie from M. Night Shyamalan and the third movie in Shyamalan’s trilogy. But is Glass coming to Netflix? Let’s find out.
It’s already been 3 years since the release of Split not to mention 19 years since the release of Unbreakable! Glass is an American superhero thriller film created by M. Night Shyamalan.
The film is the third title in the Eastrail 177 Trilogy and proceeded Unbreakable (2000) and Split (2016). At the time of writing the film has had massive commercial success in its opening weekend. Glass was made on a budget of only $20 million, considering the film has already made almost $90 million its been a huge success.
Set soon after the events of Split, both Kevin ‘The Horde’ Crumb and David ‘The Overseer’ Dunn are captured by the authorities. The pair is taken to a mental hospital where Dunn’s rival Mr. Glass resides.
Is Glass part of the Disney deal with Netflix?
Director and creator M. Night Shyamalan had to procure the rights to Bruce Willis’ character David Dunn so he could create the ending to Split.
Shyamalan succeeded in getting the character back from Disney as long as they were involved in the production and distribution of Glass. So it’s excluded from the Disney contract.
How have fans reacted to Glass?
Naturally, James McAvoy smashed it out of the park once again for his portrayal of Kevin Crumb and his other personalities.
James McAvoy is such an incredible actor !!! He already left us admirative in #Split but I think he did even a better job in #GlassMovie : his acting is so good that just with a few mimics in a few second we know exactly which character he is portraying. He deserves + recognition pic.twitter.com/oTCMQ21VIE

#GlassMovie was fucking fantastic!!! Screw the damn critics. Open your mind a little, watch all three in sequence, and just enjoy some phenomenal acting, writing, and imagination.

I went from begrudgingly admiring GLASS on the first viewing to full blown loving it on the second. That movie gives precisely zero fucks and actively antagonizes its audience and, reader: I am here for it.

Will Glass be coming to Netflix?
As Universal was the distributor for Glass in the United States the chances of it arriving on Netflix are slim. Universal is a subsidiary of NBCUniversal to which own a significant stake in Hulu. Therefore Glass would likely stream on Hulu for a significant time before it arrives on Netflix.
Will other regions be streaming Glass on Netflix?
Outside the United States, the movie is distributed by Disney so Canada but because it’s distributed under Buena Vista International, it’s likely excluded from the Disney deal.
For a limited time, Glass will stream on Now TV and Sky Go in the United Kingdom before it arrives on Netflix. The only film from the Eastrail 177 Trilogy available on Netflix UK is Split.
