Scrotal Recall has had a rocky ride with its development and that looks to have continued over into season 2 after Channel 4 ditched the show only for Netflix to not only express interest in having it developed into a season 2 but has gone onto work out a deal with BBC Worldwide where it’ll be the sole distributor of the show.
Season 1 landed on Netflix US in April 2015 after having aired in the UK in late 2014. It was then added to Netflix UK on April 1st 2016, signalling a move from Netflix that’d take on the show as an Original in all regions releasing Channel 4 from the picture, much like we’ve seen with Black Mirror.
The second season of Scrotal Recall has subsequently been put into production and will be releasing on Netflix exclusively under the Originals program.
The all important question is when season 2 of Scrotal Recall will be coming to Netflix. While nothing is official and given what we’ve heard so far, we suspect it may be a late 2016 or early 2017 release given the past announcements.
In case you need convincing that this show is worth watching, listen up. The show is a teen comedy which can be compared with other shows such as The Inbetweeners and Skins. It also draws a lot of comparisons to the movie franchise American Pie too.
When Johnny Flynn’s character gets tested positive for chlamydia he has to go back to his previous girlfriends to alert them of the fact. After that he has to debate whether his best friend is worthy of going after as a life mate. It’s hilarious and the main character is kind of a loser which makes it even better.
