Money Heist has been the best new addition to Netflix from outside of the USA and with part 2 now out in the wild. When will part 3 or the full second season be on Netflix? We’ll be taking a look below.
Known as ‘La Casa de Papel’ in Spain which translates as The House of Paper is a Netflix Original in most regions but actually airs in Spain under Antena 3. Netflix has managed to pick up the exclusive rights to many Spanish shows over the years such as Cable Girls and Velvet. Some of these titles fly under the Netflix Original banner.
The series follows The Professor who puts together a plan to pull off the biggest heist in history. The plan is to break into the Spanish mint and print billions of dollars.
Why is Money Heist in parts?
Netflix decided that it would split up the first 15 episodes into two parts. This isn’t uncommon for Netflix to do but it’s a practice it mainly does with its original sitcoms.
Money Heist has been significantly edited since it aired in Spain. In Spain, the first series spanned 15 episodes with each episode coming in at around 70 minutes. It was edited down for Western audiences resulting in more episodes and the opportunity to pad out the release.
Part 1 released in late 2017 and part 2 arrived just a week ago in April 2018.
Money Heist Part 3 Renewal Status
Official Renewal Status: Not Yet Renewed
Although it’s not been officially renewed for parts 3 and 4 under the second season, it’s inevitable it will be. Since its launch, it’s grown to become one of the most popular series on Netflix boasting a huge audience.
Of course, the story has plenty more to give and also could be spun off into an anthology format too. On the other hand, the show did wrap up quite nicely at the end of part 2 episode 9 which could mean the end for Money Heist.
When will Money Heist part 3 be on Netflix?
Given that we don’t have a second season release date yet, we’re thinking that it won’t be releasing on the same schedule as the first bunch of episodes. If that was the case, we’d be seeing new episodes air in Spain from May 2018 and come to Netflix late this year.
We can’t give a proper estimate until we know the show’s future so keep an eye on this page as we learn more.
