After a long wait, Westworld is finally back for its second series. The HBO sci-fi/western series lit up the network when it first landed back in 2016. Season 2 is just about to begin airing on HBO so many will be looking as to whether you can currently stream season 1 and indeed, season 2 on Netflix. Sadly, the answer for every single country is no.
Based on the movie of the same name that came out of the 60’s this reboot has top talent involved plus had J.J Abrams behind the series too. The show contained plenty of twists and turns and season 2 looks to continue that trend but expect big changes going into the second season.
As you’ve probably figured out by now, Westworld is not available on Netflix. This is because none of HBO’s content arrives on Netflix due to the fact the two companies occupy the same space and therefore are in competition.
Where can you stream Westworld?
Fortunately, there are streaming options available for the show. In the United States, you’ll have to have an HBO subscription to watch the show live but if you have either HBO Go or the catchup app for HBO, you can currently stream all of season 1 plus you’ll be able to stream season 2 as new weekly episodes become available. Some HBO shows used to wind up on Amazon Prime but sadly that contract has since ceased.
Over in the United Kingdom, Sky Atlantic is carrying the show for season 2 but their streaming platform NowTV currently allows you to catch up with season 1 of Westworld and new episodes will also be arriving weekly. Be warned though, NowTV regularly refreshes their library.
In Australia, the series has been picked up by Showcase which will be no surprise to most Australians. After all, they carry nearly all of the HBO catalogue. Streaming plans for Australia are yet to be known.
As always, Netflix DVD in the United States carry the boxsets for earlier seasons.
