Wolf King The Residence Netflix Top 10 Report

Wolf King and The Residence – Pictures: Netflix

There’s always a worry when a show on Netflix takes off in a major way that the shows awaiting in the weeks to come are at risk of being overshadowed. Did that happen to The Residence with Adolescence still very much dominating the larger conversation? Welcome to your top 10 report, where we’ll run through that story and all the other big stories for the past seven days.

As a reminder, you can easily browse through all of Netflix’s top 10 stats for the past few years through our search tool, which allows you to breeze through all prior weekly stats as well as dig into the individual stats for both series and movies.

Note: In this report of Netflix’s hours viewed from March 17th, 2025 to March 23rd, 2025, we’ll use “Complete Viewings Equivalent,” or CVE, expressed in millions. That means we divide the hours viewed announced by Netflix by the runtime of films or series. It allows for better comparisons between films and series, but it’s not an audience metric. It is the minimum number of viewings if they were all complete from the first second to the last of the film or season.

1. Adolescence grows fast

The second week of the hit Adolescence is very strong with 42M CVEs, bringing its total to 66.3M CVEs. After 11 days, the series is hot on the heels of Bridgerton Season 3A and is in a very good position to enter the all-time Top 10.

So, how far can the series go after such a stellar launch? For now, it is ahead of the number 3 spot in the all-time Top 10, Monster: Dahmer, and if it manages to hold up over time, it would be a real surprise. Personally, I don’t really believe it will, as the series is quite short and easily bingeable, meaning it could lose momentum more quickly. I would bet on a final placement between 5th and 7th place at the 91-day mark, but I could be completely wrong. We’ll refine our predictions as the weeks go by, especially next week when we get its 14-day figure.

2. The Twister

The Twister, the documentary about the aftermath of a devastating tornado in the U.S. in 2011, had an excellent debut with 17M CVEs in 5 days, making it the third-best launch for a Netflix documentary released on a Wednesday.

3. The Residence

The Residence, the new Shondaland series, is struggling to make an impact this week, caught in the whirlwind of Adolescence. Its debut is quite mediocre, with 6.4M CVEs in 4 days. It’s still a bit early to say for sure, but I can see it getting renewed anyway—because it’s Shonda Rhimes, and its launch numbers are almost in line with A Man on the Inside. However, it looks like a costly series, and that launch is not up to that supposed budget. At worst, it could end up as a high-end limited series.

4. Wolf King

The animated series Wolf King also had a mediocre debut, with only 2.9M EVCs in 4 days. However, compared to the other series in the chart, it isn’t based on a strong IP, so that’s somewhat encouraging—though I believe Netflix was expecting much more by placing it here, at the end of the financial quarter.

5. Revelations

In South Korea, Revelations, the new film from the director of Train to Busan, isn’t really drawing large audiences, with a modest debut of 5.7M EVCs. That puts it around the middle of the pack in terms of South Korean films, ahead of the likes of Believer 2 and 20th Century Girl, but behind Officer Black Belt and Uprising. Given the push by Netflix socials and given the involvement of Alfonso Cuaron, this is probably a bit disappointing.

6. Woman of the Dead (Season 2)

That’s a significant drop for the Austrian series Woman of the Dead in its second week. With only 2M EVCs over its first 5 days, it’s performing far worse than Season 1’s debut, which was a bit of a surprise when it originally launched on Netflix.
