To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before has been one of the most popular films on Netflix in 2018. The Rom-Com was released back in the Summer of 2018 and soon became a smash hit for subscribers worldwide. Since its ending left on massive cliffhanger fans have been clamoring for a sequel to be produced. We can now confirm that To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before is getting a sequel!
To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before is a Netflix Original film based on the novel of the same name by author Jenny Han. Before Netflix acquired the rights to the film, other studios wanted to create an adaptation themselves. Author Jenny Han turned down many studios due to them wanting to change the ethnicity of the lead character, from Asian-American to Caucasian. Eventually, a studio was found that was happy to proceed with Susan Johnson’s request. Cast in the lead role was X-Men star Lana Condor, but her role as Lara Jean is arguably her break-out role.
The news broke last night and was announced by various Netflix sources, such as Twitter and YouTube. Along with the announcement itself, a video was also released with lead actress Lana Condor announcing the news with fellow co-star Noah Centineo. Considering the novel of the same name is the first book in a trilogy, it shouldn’t come as a surprise that the sequel is coming.
