The Umbrella Academy has fast become one of the most popular Originals to date. With a fantastic group of charismatic actors and a great story to boot it’s not hard to see why so many subscribers have fallen for the show. Now the future of the show has potentially been thrown into doubt thanks to a tweet from one of the core cast.
The tweet in question belonged to actor Aidan Gallagher (also known as #5). Taking to Twitter to express his thanks for the role of #5 his questionable tweet left many fans scratching their heads:
Thank you for the role of a lifetime! I will always look back and say wow that was the coolest role I ever played! #Netflix #UCP #darkhorse #gerardway #gabrielba pic.twitter.com/9LoWBTC6Uy

The tweet left fans in a state of disarray, worried both for the future of the show and whether or not Aidan would be returning to the role.
It’s not the first tweet that put the show’s future in doubt either. On February 28th, he tweeted this:
While I have no doubts because I've been to the future (it sucks by the way) — no word from Netflix on a 2nd season has been given to anyone yet. When it comes they will make it loud and headline clear to all. https://t.co/sNXD0Ydpdi

There are multiple reasons why Aidan may have tweeted and could be simply poor wording. If this is Aidan Gallagher expressing his goodbyes then the role of #5 would simply need recasting. That’s not to say Gallagher wouldn’t be missed as he has been perfect in the role, second only to Robert Sheehan as Klaus.
Alternatively, the show has been canceled and Gallagher has accidentally let that slip, to which we highly doubt because of a later tweet. Some have said the young actor may be leaving to pursue a career in music. Gallagher released his first single ‘Blue Neon‘ on the 22nd of March and has already amassed a loyal fan following.
Excited to announce my single “Blue Neon – Club Version” is releasing March 22!

Lastly, Gallagher may just be bad at saying thank you and this is a complete misunderstanding!
On March 26th, Aidan put out another Tweet asking fans to retweet if they want to see a second season of The Umbrella Academy.
