Blood Red Sky’s Peri Baumeister returns to Netflix for another exciting new German series, The Signal. Coming to Netflix in March 2024, we’re covering everything you need to know about The Signal, including the plot, cast, trailer, and Netflix release date.
The Signal is an upcoming German Netflix Original sci-fi drama series. The series was written by Sebastian Hilger, with Florian David Fitz, Nadine Gottmann, and Kim Zimmermann credited as working on the screenplay.
Sebastian Hilger is also one of the series directors, with the other being Philipp Leinemann.
Berlin-based Bon Voyage Films is the production company behind the series.
When is The Signal coming to Netflix?
We can confirm that The Signal will be coming to Netflix on March 7th, 2024. A German poster with the release date has been released. However, an English poster has yet to be released.
We’re still waiting for Netflix to release a trailer.

What is the plot of The Signal?
The synopsis for The Signal has been sourced from IMDb;
“Paula doesn’t come home. Sven and his daughter Charlie wait for her at the gate, but her plane has vanished. While Sven tries to protect his daughter from the terrible events, he clutches at every straw he is offered. Suddenly, it seems like he is onto something; Paula left him a clue, a trail of breadcrumbs for Sven to follow. But the further down the trail he goes, the more his life falls apart, the bigger the mystery grows and the greater the threat for him, Charlie… and even the entire world. Paula was no average person. She was on the ISS. And there, in the darkness of space, she discovered something. Or didn’t she?”

Who are the cast members of The Signal?
Florian David Fitz plays the role of Sven. The actor will make his Netflix debut in The Signal. He is known for starring in German films such as Jesus Loves Me, The Most Beautiful Day, and 100 Things.
Peri Baumeister plays the role of Paula. Netflix subscribers who have streamed Blood Red Sky will recognize the actress for her role of Nadja. She has starred in other Netflix projects such as Sleeping Dog, Skylines, and The Last Kingdom.

Yuna Bennett plays the role of Charlie, the daughter of Paula and Sven. The actress has only held a small handful of roles given her age. In her career so far, she has starred in movies such as Dear Thomas, Die Tänzerin und der Gangster – Liebe auf Umwegen, and Hard Feelings.

When and where was The Signal filmed?
Filming for the series reportedly began on December 29th, 2022, and ran until May 12th, 2023.
Filming reportedly took place in Leipzig, Saxony, Germany, and Munich, Bavaria, Germany.
