The Sandman Season New First Looks Confirmation Of Endless

Pictures: Netflix

It’s been almost two years since Netflix premiered The Sandman season one, and production has been ongoing since November 2023. Fans have long been desperate for news regarding the new episodes, and now, Netflix has dropped casting news for fan favorites Delirium, Destiny, and Destruction.

The Sandman season 2 is slated to conclude filming in August, with a release date projected for sometime in 2025. Currently, we know that the new season will consist of 12 episodes, and will cover the Season of Mists and Brief Lives story arcs from the comics. It’ll also tell a selection of standalone tales, such as A Midsummer Night’s Dream and The Song of Orpheus.

As we look ahead to the new episodes, fans will meet the missing members of the Endless — the 7 cosmic beings and siblings of Morpheus. We’ve already met Dream (Tom Sturridge), Death (Kirby Howell-Baptiste) Desire (Mason Alexander Park) and Despair (Donna Preston). Now, Netflix has announced who’s playing the other 3 Endless; Delirium, Destruction and Destiny. Let’s take a look!

Delirium is played by Esmé Creed-Miles.

Esmé Creed-Miles already has a family connection to The Sandman. Her mother, Samantha Morton, voiced Urania Blackwell in Audible’s Sandman dramatization. She plays Delirium, one of the most popular characters from the entire comic.

Formerly Delight, Delirium is childish and extremely excitable. She’s the youngest of all the Endless siblings. She has mismatched eyes, and dresses differently depending on her appearance. She embodies excitement and joy. In the comics, she is best known for joining her brother Dream on searching for their missing brother Destruction.

We first reported on Esmé joining the cast for season 2 in October 2023.

Destruction is played by Barry Sloane.

This casting most fans were already aware of. Sloane has previously let slip that he was playing Destruction through a live-stream. This is another inspired casting.

Also known as The Prodigal, Destruction abandoned his duties after learning that humanity would cause its own destruction without his input. Despite what his name suggests, he also embodies creation — this theme of juxtaposition is evident throughout all the Endless siblings.

We also reported on Barry joining the cast for season 2 in October 2023.

Destiny is played by Adrian Lester.

Adrian Lester is best known for roles in Hustle, Renegade Nell and The Day After Tomorrow. He plays Destiny, the all-knowing, eldest Endless sibling. Destiny is blind, and lives in the center of a misty, never-ending labyrinth. He lives in solitude. He knows everything that has happened and everything that will happen, all through an enormous book that’s chained around his neck. Destiny kicks off the Season of Mists storyline, where he gathers all of his siblings for an all-important Endless family meeting.

That’s our Endless family, everyone! These are some exquisite castings. We’ll see them all together for the first time in Sandman season 2, which will adapt a scene in which the entire family gathers for a dinner. This scene is one of the most popular from the comics, and fans are desperate to see it play out on screen!

The Sandman season 2 doesn’t have a release date yet. Given that it’s still in production, we can expect to see it premiere sometime in 2025. In the meantime, the spinoff show Dead Boy Detectives is currently streaming on Netflix. We also spoke to Donna Preston, who cameoed as Despair in Dead Boy Detectives, where she commented on how excited she is for everyone to see The Sandman season 2.
