The House of Flowers is one of Netflix’s best Spanish productions originating from Mexico. The series is returning for two additional seasons with season 2 coming in late 2019 and season 3 in 2020. Here’s what we know about the future of the show.

The show slipped onto Netflix in August 2018, and although it didn’t quite get the media attention it deserved, it’s very much worth your time. Netflix has been releasing some great Spanish language series as of late with the likes of Cable Girls and Ingobernable, and this series is no exception.

The series is basically a Spanish equivalent of Bloodline, another highly-rated Netflix drama. The series consists of a family going to any lengths to try and cover up the father of the family’s affair with a maid. It’s dubbed as a dark comedy.

The House of Flowers Season 2 Renewal Status

The series was renewed two months after the first season premiered. Not only did the announcement of season 2 come, it also led the way for season three to also get greenlit.

The series was renewed alongside a bunch of other announced Spanish shows both renewed and set to debut throughout 2018 and beyond.

Filming took place in February 2019, concluding in mid-July 2019. In mid-August 2019, it was confirmed that the House of Flowers will return to Netflix on October 18th, 2019.

With that said, Netflix has begun teasing the show, so we should see season 2 arrive in September, October, or November 2019.

Season 3 will be arriving on Netflix in 2020,, but again, don’t expect it to be released until much later in the year.

What to expect from season 2 of The House of Flowers

Warning: spoilers for season 1 of The House of Flowers follows

Promotion for the show on its social pages has been ramping up in recent months, giving us an idea on what we can expect from season 2.

CNET Spain has been covering the second season in-depth, and if you’re a Spanish speaker, you’ll be well-serviced by reading their preview.

On August 12th, we got word on the fate of Virginia de la Mora for season 2, with her seemingly being killed off. As you may have heard, Veronica Castro will not be returning to her role in future seasons.

A WhatsApp conversation has been posted where they’re discussing the death of their mother.

There’s been a post from the main protagonist of the series, too, with her continuing to threaten the family and expose their secrets.

The video loosely translates to the following:

“You know well that I don’t have money anymore. But what I do have are very skills particular, skills that make me a nightmare for people like you … If you come back now and return what you took, I will forgive you and forget everything you did. But if you don’t do it, I will look for you until you are tired. find, and I’m going to kill you,”

We know there has been filming taking place in Madrid for season 2. In fact, there was a nice cross-over picture with La Casa De Papel season 3, whereby the two shows could share the same universe.
