Netflix is baking up a delicious Christmas treat for you in November as The Great British Baking Show is back for its holiday specials releasing on Netflix only in the United States on November 8th.
The Great British Baking Show has become a hallmark of Netflix’s cooking lineup which has swelled in recent years with international pickups and original productions.
Where previous years Netflix carried The Great British Baking Shows from PBS, this year, Netflix managed to carry the show exclusively under its Original banner getting new episodes every Friday.
Among some of the spinoffs that Netflix also carries is The Beginnings which takes us back to the original first season. Masterclass is the other spin-off that features four seasons streaming on Netflix right now.
Season 1 of The Great British Baking Show: Holidays was added to Netflix on November 30th, 2018.
Every Christmas season, the show releases two special episodes over the holiday period. We’re now about to get the two episodes that aired on December 25th, 2018 and January 1st, 2019.
The first episode is once again named “The Great British Christmas Bake Off” and the second being The Great Festive Bake Off”.
For those in the United Kingdom, you’ll have to watch the special when it airs on television for the new episodes. Netflix does carry the older episodes but only those that aired on the BBC. All the newer seasons can only be found on 4oD.
Will season 3 of The Great British Baking Show Holidays be on Netflix?
The effective third season is due to air later this year with it once again taking place on December 25th and January 1st, 2020. What we don’t know yet is whether Netflix will manage to get them on a weekly basis like they’re doing with the main series or whether we’ll have to wait for November 2020. We’ll have more information on this as we get closer to the festive season.
