Netflix has confirmed that its new mobile game, The Dragon Prince: Xadia, will debut on iOS and Android on July 30th, 2024. This coincides with the release of the main mothership series’ sixth season, which is due to drop on July 26th.
The game has been in development for a long time. It was first announced in January 2019 under the working title Project Arcanum. It was only connected to Netflix in late 2023, with the game initially being set only for a PC release. You can still sign up to take part in the play tests for that PC release via the Wonderstorm website.
Per an updated description of the upcoming game, here’s what you can expect going in:
“In the game, explore the world of Xadia with heroes from the series. Step into the boots of Xadia’s greatest champions, team up in co-op missions to fight iconic Dragon Prince villains, and discover new stories with all the heart, humor, and high stakes the series is known for.”
While a full trailer for the game is expected to be released just before its launch, we got an official game teaser late last year at Netflix’s Geeked Week, where Xadia was showcased amongst a slew of other games.
The full trailer for the game was released on June 7th, and the news is that pre-registration has now opened for the game on iOS and Google Play.
New glimpses of the game in action can be found in Netflix’s new sizzle trailer for their games set to be released throughout the summer:
The game will be part of Wonderstorm’s Expanded Universe of The Dragon Prince, developed in tandem with the main show over the past few years. Two board games (one called Tales of Xadia), companion books, comics, novels, toys, and collectibles have been released as part of that expanded universe.
The game’s release date came as Netflix previewed 14 upcoming mobile games due out on Netflix in the Summer of 2024 and in the coming months to round out 2024. Other Summer 2024 games include Netflix Stories: Perfect Match, The Case of the Golden Idol, Hearts, Cozy Grove: Camp Spirit, Too Hot to Handle 3, and Arrange: A Role-Playing Adventure.
