The Chef Show is getting its second course added to Netflix in early September 2019 with its second volume. Here’s what that means, who may star and more about The Chef Show season 2.
When it comes to unexpected hits, The Chef Show certainly meets that criteria. It quietly dropped onto Netflix and wasn’t even planned to be a show. Jon Favreau who is basically the busiest man alive started recording sessions with his chef and the result is The Chef Show.
Netflix has been pushing into the cooking genre in the past few years with big hits like Chef’s Table, Somebody Feed Phil, and Ugly Delicious.
The format of the show is just as much of a talk show as it is a cooking show. It sees Jon and Roy Choi cooking up a variety of treats and then enjoyed or prepared with a variety of special guests.
Given the show’s success, it was instantly renewed back at the end of July for a second season. Little did we know that we’d be getting season 2 so quickly.

The first season saw some great guests (mostly from the Marvel Cinematic Universe) including Gwyneth Paltrow, Robert Downy Jr, Tom Holland, and one of the Russo Brothers. It saw some funny revelations like the fact Gwyneth had no idea she was in a Spider-Man movie.
This season, we could expect some of the cast from The Lion King to turn up on the series given Jon would’ve been filming that for Disney around the time. Jon is also busy with The Mandalorian for Disney+ so we could see a mention of that too.
Volume 2 is currently scheduled for release in September 2019 on September 13th. The release is global and comes to Netflix in a month full of brand new Netflix Originals.
