Netflix’s smash-hit British superhero series Supacell is one step closer to returning to our screens. Series creator Rapman has officially confirmed that filming on the highly anticipated second season has finally wrapped following a string of production delays. Here is the latest on Supacell season 2.

Fans have been eagerly awaiting updates on the South London super-powered drama since its explosive debut in June 2024. Following a swift renewal from Netflix, the road to season 2 hasn’t been entirely smooth. As we previously reported, filming hit a few bumps in the road, with production initially delayed and pushed back to late 2025.

Now, the wait for the cameras to stop rolling is over.

Taking to Instagram, showrunner and creator Rapman shared a massive update with fans, posting a photo of himself hard at work in the editing suite. On the monitor in front of him is a title card for Supacell 2, featuring the surviving core cast looking ready for action.

In his caption, Rapman addressed the production hurdles but assured fans the final product will deliver:

“Due to circumstances out of our control we had to pause production for a while. But filming is finally done! I’m currently in the edit getting it ready. It’s coming and I PROMISE it will be worth the wait. 💪🏾🙏🏾. #Supacell2”

Behind the Scenes of Supacell Season 2

Just weeks before Rapman announced the wrap, production was still in full swing on the streets of London.

On May 6th, 2026, Calvin Demba—who plays the fan-favorite speedster Rodney—was spotted filming scenes on London’s upscale Bond Street. In the exclusive behind-the-scenes shot, Demba can be seen trailed by a camera and sound crew while loaded up with high-end designer shopping bags, including a white Prada bag and a yellow Selfridges bag.

What Else Do We Know About Season 2?

As we’ve previously covered here on What’s on Netflix, the world of Supacell is expanding behind and in front of the camera.

Because of the massive scale of the second season, Rapman won’t be shouldering the directorial duties entirely on his own this time around. Koby Adom (Top BoyNoughts + Crosses) has been tapped to direct alongside Rapman to help bring the next chapter to life.

Furthermore, the cast is growing. While the core five are returning, season 2 has officially added four new cast members to the roster to shake things up following the deadly events of the season 1 finale, with those including Frank Bourke, Tiana Simone, Richard Keep, and Ed Allenby.

When will Supacell Season 2 be on Netflix?

With filming now officially in the can as of June 2026, the series enters the lengthy post-production phase.

Supacell is a heavy VFX show—bringing those telekinetic, time-traveling, and super-speed abilities to life takes a significant amount of time in the editing room. Given that Rapman is currently cutting the episodes together, we are predicting a very late 2026 or, more likely, a board 2027 release date for Supacell season 2.
