Season 2 of Riverdale is coming to Netflix and we have all the information you need about when the new season will drop on Netflix. The release schedule varies from region to region so we’ll cover each below.
Riverdale becomes a hit sensation throughout the first season as it successfully adapted the old archive comic strip into an instantly watchable and addicting CW series. The first season came to Netflix quickly and promptly with new episodes being added a day after they air in some regions and coming much earlier to other regions.
Not much is known about the second season except that Ross Butler has left the show after commitments with 13 Reasons Why and has been released with Charles Melton.
Season 2 has recently been confirmed with a much earlier release date than usual meaning most people will have only a few months until we start getting new episodes. The first episode is scheduled to arrive on October 11th, 2017 and the UK and Australia will be getting new episodes weekly and the US will be getting the complete season added soon after.

Please note: we’ve made two assumptions here. One is that there’ll be 13 episodes (the number the first season had) and also we assume that the show doesn’t get split into two halves. The first season didn’t get split but given that the show will be crossing through the Christmas period, it is a possibility.

Riverdale Season 2 Netflix US Release Date
Although Netflix in the United States won’t be getting weekly episodes like quite a few other Netflix regions, it will be getting it earlier than shows from say shows from ABC or NBC. This is because of an exclusive relationship between Netflix and The CW where new shows are bought exclusively to Netflix around 7-8 days after the show wraps up.
In the case of season 1, the season finale aired on May 11th, 2017 and came to Netflix on May 19th, 2017. Given the release schedule above and assumming there’s no midseason break and the same amount of episodes, that means we’ll see season 2 of Riverdale arrive in mid-January 2018.
