The latest comic book adaption coming to Netflix in January 2020 is the incredibly stylized October Faction. One of the first series to kickstart the year, hopefully, subscribers will take to the series just as well as other comic book adaptions like V-Wars and The Umbrella Academy.
October Faction is an upcoming Netflix Original horror sci-fi series based on the comic books of the same name by authors Steve Niles and Damien Worm. In a team of nine, co-creators Damien Worm and Steve Niles have been listed as writers for the upcoming series, with directing duties split amongst five directors, each taking two episodes. October Faction is co-production between High Park Entertainment and IDW Entertainment, the latter who previously had a series debut on Netflix recently, V-Wars.
When is the Netflix release date for October Faction?
The first season of October Faction will be coming to Netflix on the 23rd of January, 2020.

As the series was ordered by Netflix and not licensed, October Faction will be available to stream worldwide.
What is the plot of October Faction?
The following synopsis has been provided by Netflix:
Globetrotting monster hunters Fred and Deloris Allen who, after the death of Fred’s father, return to their hometown in upstate New York with their teenage children Geoff and Viv. As the family adjusts, Fred and Deloris must hide their identities as members of a secret organization, and our heroes quickly discover that their new small-town setting isn’t as idyllic as it seems.

As you can see from the list above, three actors, Alice Harlow, Geoff Allen, and Gina Fernandez all starred in the Shadowhunters television series.
Will the series follow the story of the comics?
There are a total of six volumes of October Faction, to which the first three cover the first eighteen issues. The next three volumes carry on the story of the series but don’t contain the individual comic book issues.
With six volumes to its name, there is plenty of source material for the Original series to work from. Naturally, a television series may diverge from its source material, but regardless, if done correctly Netflix could get of least three of four seasons out of October faction.
The fact that the co-creators themselves, Damien Worm and Steve Niles are working on the series, means that the story should follow the same tone and feel like the comics.

When and where was October Faction filmed?
Filming took place in Cambridge, Ontario during the Fall of 2018. Principal photography began in September and ended in December.
How many episodes will the first season of October Faction air?
It has been confirmed that the first season of October Faction will arrive with ten episodes. All ten episodes will be available to stream upon release.
What are the episode run times?
Each episode will have an estimated run time of 45 minutes to an hour.
Will October Faction be available to stream in 4K?
It has become a requirement of Netflix that all the latest Originals are available to be streamed in 4K. This means that October Faction will be available to stream in 4K.

Can we expect to see more seasons of October Faction?
This entirely depends on how the first season of October Faction performs. Sadly, the series has received very little marketing and considering October Faction releases next month we should have seen more about the Original by now.
One of the biggest criticisms we’ve seen from subscribers is how Netflix often fails to market shows, leading to poor viewing figures which sadly results in cancelation.
