Fans of North of North will be delighted to learn that the Canadian comedy has been renewed for a second season at Netflix!

North of North is a Netflix Original comedy series created by Stacey Aglok MacDonald and Alethea Arnaquq-Baril, who also serve as executive producers. The series features a diverse group of directors, including Anya Adams, Danis Goulet, Zoe Leigh Hopkins, Lisa Jackson, Renuka Jeyapalan, and Aleysa Young. The series is also a co-production with the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation (CBC) in partnership with Aboriginal Peoples Television Network (APTN).

Siaja, a young Inuk mother, is determined to reinvent herself and forge her path in life after her recent divorce from the town’s golden boy, Ting. She hopes to shake things up at the annual Spring Festival, but it’s not easy to make a splash when the entire community knows your business.

Despite its modest debut, North of North has been renewed for a second season at Netflix.

Within the first four days of the series being available on Netflix, it garnered 3 million views. The series remained in the global top ten for a total of two weeks, during which it was watched for 19.1 million viewing hours, equivalent to 5.7 million views on Netflix.

When will North of North Season 2 be released on Netflix?

The production timeline for the first season could indicate when we can expect North of North Season 2 on Netflix.

Season 1 was filmed between March 14, 2024, and June 18, 2024, and was subsequently released on April 10, 2025. This equates to roughly 13 months between the start of filming and its release on Netflix.

We’ll speculate that if filming can begin before the start of December 2025, we could see the return of North of North sometime in the second half of 2026.
