One of Netflix’s biggest Polish shows has been confirmed to return for its second season in late 2025. Netflix has already pulled the trigger on season 3 of 1670, which has now been greenlit and confirmed for release in 2026.
The renewal was first spotted by the account Kino Alert PL after they noted that the series had applied for local funding to the Polish Film Institute (Polski Instytut Sztuki Filmowej), requesting funds of upwards of $2M USD (7.7M Polish złoty), which it was granted.
Netflix officially confirmed the news on April 2nd with a social media post confirming the renewal of season 3 and stating that it would be hitting our screens in 2026.
To najprawdziwsza prawda!

The creators have further ambitions, too. According to an earlier report by Korso Kolbuszowskie, the filmmakers confessed during a session at the Museum in Kolbuszowa that they want to ultimately make four seasons of the show.
The news of renewal shouldn’t come as a particular surprise. As we covered when the show was given a season 2 thumbs up last year, the show performed particularly well in Poland in terms of local reception, with highly favorable reviews, and in the top 10s. Season 1 ultimately spent 91 days in the Polish top 10s and featured in the daily top 10s in around a dozen more countries, too, albeit not to the same success. It’s another example of an international show that breaks the 31-day rule for renewal (one we’ve observed) in its home country, yet it isn’t a big international success.
When will season 2 of 1670 be released on Netflix?
No exact release date has been set yet, although in a reply to somebody asking on social media, Netflix’s Polish account confirmed the return will be in the Fall of 2025. The series was renewed for its second season in March 2024.
This news comes just a few months after the show was part of Next on Netflix Poland, where the country’s regional slate was previewed. Jakub Rużyłło, a scriptwriter on the series, was present at the presentation and said, “enthusiastic reception of the series allowed us to be even bolder and take more creative risks in expanding the universe of 1670 and its main characters in the second season.”
Łukasz Kłuskiewicz, Director of Film CEE at Netflix, headed up the presentation where a first look still for the new season (see below) was debuted, alongside previews for Heweliusz and Second Furioza. “This is going to be a big year for the entertainment industry in Poland. We are bringing back some of our most beloved shows and films, and experimenting with new formats, including a rap talent show, which has never been done before in Poland. We will also captivate our audience with a series of a spectacular production scale, exceptional for Netflix not only in Poland, but also in Europe.”
