The host of the Emmys 2014, Seth Meyers kept on mentioning the power of the new generation online and cable shows outperforming the normally ruled Emmys from the network shows. This shift is something barely anyone could have predicted and one which is welcomed by most.
Netflix scored 7 Emmys yesterday with Orange is the New Black storming ahead of the other Netflix originals which was to be expected. Some would say it’s a poor showing though however given the amount of nominations Netflix Originals scored which was a record 31 leading into the event.

That’s not to say shows streaming on Netflix necessarily did bad either. Breaking Bad ended with a high note scoring 16 Emmy awards which include some of the most prestigious of the night. As seen above both leading gents gained awards for their roles as well as Anna Gunn also scoring Outstanding Supporting Actress. The 16 wins says farewell to the last season of Netflix which in some regions was exclusive and broadcasted first. We hope that Better Call Saul will fare as well in upcoming award ceremonies.
Other winners included Sherlock with awards going to the lead cast members Martin Freemana and Benedict Cumberbatch.
