Netflix and Chills indeed as we look forward to the release of Netflix’s horror line up for this coming Halloween. The second Original horror scheduled to arrive this October is Eli, and we can’t wait to see what’s in store for us. We have everything you need to know on Eli, including, the plot, cast, trailer, and Netflix release date.
Eli is an upcoming Netflix Original horror directed by Ciarán Foy, he previously directed Sinister 2 (2015) and Citadel (2012). The screenplay was written by David Chirchirillo, Ian Goldberg and Richard Naing. After the film’s completion in December 2018, Netflix picked up the distribution for Eli but chose to wait until Halloween to release it.
What is the plot of Eli?
Eli was born with a rare auto-immune disorder that has drastically impacted his life. While Eli undergoes treatment at a secluded clinic, he soon discovers his temporary home is far more sinister than he could have ever imagined.

When did the production of Eli take place?
Originally, Eli belonged to Paramount and a January 2019 release date was scheduled, but because of Paramount’s struggle to figure out how to market Eli, they instead sold the distribution rights to Netflix.
Filming began on the 29th of January 2018 and concluded on the 12th of March, 2018. Post-production lasted from April 2018 to September 2018, it was announced on the December of that year that the film had been completed, but this also coincided with Netflix’s purchase to distribute the film.
It’s somewhat surprising Netflix has taken so long to release Eli, although it makes sense they held back a horror title for their Halloween line-up.
What is the run time of Eli?
It has been confirmed that the run time of Eli is 98 minutes.
What is the rating for Eli?
It may not come as a surprise that the Original horror has been given an R rating.
Will Eli be available to stream in 4K?
There’s no confirmation on whether or not Eli will be streaming in 4K. As most Netflix Originals have the option to stream in 4K, it would be a safe bet to see the Original arrive in 4K.
