This is your polite reminder that on April 24th, the kids will be taking control of your Netflix subscription as Minions will be streaming on Netflix from that date.
Minions is included among the many titles scheduled to appear throughout the month of April on Netflix US. It’s not clear whether they’ll be landing on other Netflix regions because they weren’t included on their monthly previews.
For those of you who have never heard of minions, they originally appeared on Dreamwork’s Despicable Me but soon become internet stars with them being shared on practically every Facebook timeline in the world. They’ve spread around the world rapidly and quickly cemented into most peoples brains as either really funny little yellow dudes or the worst thing ever. The 2015 movie will be premiering on Netflix on April 24th but won’t be alongside the two Despicable Me movies as the deal between Netflix and Universal only included the rights to the Minions movie.
So what’s the spin-off about? It goes back in history to show how the Minions have evolved to serve the biggest and baddest villains in history but given their villains keep getting into, ahem, trouble, they’re forced to go out and search for a new villain to serve.
Sandra Bullock stars as Scarlett Overkill with other cast members including Jon Hamm, Michael Keaton, Steve Coogan and Steve Carrell. It’s safe to say this is an all-star cast.
It’s a beautifully animated movie that often relies on actions to tell its story rather than words, after all, Minions can’t speak much. It should be at the top of everyone’s watch list as it arrives on Netflix this Sunday but sadly, it will have leaving date that we suspect will be within a year of it being added.
