Just months after the erotic thriller Miller’s Girl hit theaters in the US, it’s now confirmed to be heading to Netflix in the United States starting in late April 2024.
Written and directed by Jade Halley Bartlett, the movie is headlined by Wednesday star Jenna Ortega (who is currently gearing up to begin filming on season 2) and Martin Freeman. The plot revolves around a young writer who embarks on a creative journey with his teacher, but their relationship becomes increasingly close and tangled.
Reviews were ultimately mixed to negative by critics around the time of release, and audience scores were equally mixed. Currently holding a 29% on RottenTomatoes, one of the harshest reviews came from Sharai Bohannon from Dread Central, who said, “This movie is a handful of gifs waiting to hit Tumbler held loosely together by a muddled script that never seems sure about what it wants to say.”
Alongside Freeman and Ortega, the movie also stars Bashir Salahuddin, Gideon Adlon, Dagmara Domińczyk, and Christine Adams.
Netflix’s main account on X confirmed the addition of the movie yesterday. They didn’t state whether it would be a global release but given that no other local accounts have confirmed the addition, it’s likely going to be just the US only.
The movie arrives on Netflix in the US on April 25th, 2024, and we’ll soon include it in our April 2024 roster of upcoming series and movies. Other SVOD debuts for Netflix US in April 2024 include the Sony Pictures rom-com Anyone But You.

Latest Lionsgate Movie to Come to Netflix US in First Window
For the most part, Lionsgate movies head to Starz in their first window and then Peacock for the second window at present.
That said, over the past year or so, we’ve seen a few Lionsgate movies come to Netflix exclusively in the first window. The most recent was The Re-Education of Molly Singer, added in January 2024. Others over the past year include The Engineer, starring Emile Hirsch, and Jesus Revolution.
