Netflix’s Emmy-winning anthology series, which we count amongst the best the streamer has to offer, will return to our screens in May 2025. Ten new episodes will drop on the streamer globally on May 15th, 2025.
It’s been several years in the making with the streamer having commissioned the new season back in August 2022 following Volume 3 arriving in full a few months before on May 20th. Earlier this year, Tim Miller had hinted that the series would be arriving soon, saying, “Oh, I think if you look at when we traditionally released the show, you might have some clues as to when. But, yeah, we’re working on it.” Miller, who works on the series under his company Blur Studio, which he cofounded, recently released a similar anthology animation series for Prime Video called Secret Level, launching with 15 episodes.

Jennifer Yuh Nelson continues supervising director duties from Volume 3 with Tim Miller, David Fincher, Jennifer Miller, and Joshua Donen serving as executive producers.
The new season, consisting of 10 episodes, will once again feature a variety of stories from some of the best animation talent and studios worldwide. According to the Netflix Engagement Reports, the three volumes of the series picked up 42.4 million hours watched between 2023 and 2024.
The official synopsis for the new season reads, “Dinosaur gladiators, messianic cats, string-puppet rock stars, it can only be Love, Death & Robots.” The new episodes continue to showcase “the series’ signature, award-winning style of bleeding-edge animation, horror, sci-fi and humor. Buckle up.”
Looking at the trailer, it looks like we’re getting another miniature episode akin to Night of the Mini Dead released in the third volume. There’s also a mix of animation styles across various stories: stop-motion, puppetry, 3D, and 2D.
In an exclusive quote to Netflix TUDUM, Tim Miller said, “I try to get a mix of horror, sci-fi, and fantasy,” adding, “And we work with some really fucking fantastic writers and artists.”
