Actress Sandra Bullock has been acting now for the past 3 decades and is one arguably one of the best actresses in Hollywood to date. Bird Box has easily become Netflix’s most successful film of 2018. Over 45 Million members tuned in to watch Bird Box in the first week. The film has now been out for over a month so it will be fascinating to see what the first month’s viewing figures will be. Going by the popularity of the Bird Box memes, its safe to say the film is beloved by fans worldwide.
In the not too distant future, most of humanity has been wiped off the face of the Earth. A small group of survivors takes shelter and fear going outside in the event that they will see the mysterious force that has causes those who witness it to commit suicide. When the shelter is no longer safe, mother Malerie attempts to take her 2 children to safety. The only hope of reaching the safe haven Malerie must navigate a boat downstream while blindfolded for 2 days.
The Prince of Egypt (1998)

Lending her voice to portray Miriam, this was the first voice acting role for Bullock. Overall the cast of The Prince of Egypt was filled to the brim with stars such as Sandra Bullock, Steve Martin, Ralph Fiennes, Patrick Stewart, Michelle Pfeiffer, and Jeff Goldblum. The Oscar-winning animated film is a classic from the Dreamwork’s library and definitely worth a watch.
The Prince of Egypt is an animated retelling of the religious tale of Moses and the 10 Commandments. Exploring the full life of Moses, the film follows his birth all the way to the parting of the Red Sea.
Our Brand is Crisis (2015)

A lesser known role for Sandra Bullock, Our Brand is Crisis was a massive box office failure. Only bringing in $8.6 million at the box office, the film was panned by critics. The one saving grace the film has is Bullock’s performance as Jane Bodine.

With rival Pat Candy working for the opposition, all that matters is winning. With an all-out war between the political consultants, nothing is sacred.
Demolition Man (1993)

For many fans, Demolition Man is the oldest film fans will recognize Sandra Bullock. Co-starring with massive movie star Sylvester Stallone, her first blockbuster role was a great success for her charming portrayal of Lieutenant Lenina Huxley.
In the year 2032, Los Angeles has become a pacifist utopia and renamed San Angeles. Awakening from his 36 years cryo-prison sentence, John Spartan rejoins the police force. When violent offender Simon Phoenix is also thawed, John must team up with Lieutenant Lenina Huxley to take Phoenix down.
Gravity (2013)

Gravity was one of the best films of 2013, and considering films such as The Wolf of Wall Street, American Hustle, Dallas Buyers Club and Blue Jasmine were also released that year, it is a massive achievement for the sci-fi film to stand out amongst them. A lot of credit should go to Sandra Bullock for her portrayal as Dr. Ryan Stone, to which she was rightfully nominated for an Oscar.
Dr Ryan Stone is on her first space mission to help service the Hubble Telescope. Disaster strikes when a Russian missile strike on a defunct satellite creates a debris field that causes irrepealable damage to the Hubble and the shuttle used on the mission. Alongside Veteran astronaut Matt Kowalski, the pair must find their way home back to earth.
The Proposal (2009)

Sandra Bullock has starred in a few Romantic-Comedies but the Proposal is easily the best one she has starred in. Alongside fellow co-star Ryan Reynolds The Proposal is a fantastic film to watch on any given day. Sadly the film is unavailable in the US & UK but for anyone with access to the film, make sure to add it to your watchlist!
Egotistical workaholic book editor Margaret Tate is facing deportation back to Canada. She forces her assistant Andrew into a fake engagement so she can stay in the country. Reluctantly he agrees but he has a few conditions of his own before agreeing. Flying to Alaska to meet Andrew’s family, the pair hilariously must keep up the charade of their engagement to both Andrew’s family and to the immigration officer lurking nearby.
Miss Congeniality (2000)

Throughout the 90’s it was evident that Sandra Bullock was rising to become a huge Hollywood star. Bullock started the Millenia in fine form when she cast in fan favorite Miss Congeniality. Over her career, Sandra Bullock has been cast in many times as a Cop or FBI agent but ultimately many fans will feel that her role as FBI agent Gracie Hart is one of her best.
The FBI rush to find a female agent to go undercover when a Miss America beauty pageant is threatened with a terrorist attack. Despite her lack of ‘femininity’ or ‘refinement’ agent, Gracie Hart is the only agent who looks the part. Horrified at the idea of having to be a girly girl, Genie must find her inner pageant star so she can help solve the case.
Speed (1994)

Speed was a massive commercial success at the box office and even though Demolition Man was released a year prior, it was Speed that was arguably the role that opened a lot of doors for Sandra Bullock in Hollywood. Same could be said for Keanu Reeves, as prior to his role in Speed he was well known for playing high schooler Ted in Bill and Ted’s Excellent Adventure.
LAPD Police Officer Jack faces the wrath of former bomb squad member Howard Payne after foiling his attempt at taking hostages. Taking revenge on Jack, Howard arms a bomb on a bus that is set to explode if its speed drops below 50 miles per hour. With the help of his partner Harry and brave passenger Annie, they must figure out how to disarm the bomb before they run out of fuel.
The Heat (2013)

The everlasting buddy cop genre is a rite of passage for many an actor/actress in Hollywood. If we were to create a full list of the Subgenre it’d most likely be as long as your arm and then some. In 2013 Bullock and McCarthy followed suit by starring in the hilarious The Heat.
Polar opposites collide when FBI Investigator Sarah Ashburn and Detective Shannon Mullins are forced to work together to take down a drug lord. Ashburn the Special Agent working for the FBI is ambitious and egotistical but a phenomenal agent albeit hated by her co-workers. Detective Mullins, in contrast, is street smart, brash and foul-mouthed and a highly respected Detective. When the 2 are forced to work together, sparks inevitably fly but the last thing the pair expect is to ever become friends.
The Blind Side (2009)
