Deservedly so, Michael Douglas was rewarded for his portrayal of Sandy Kominsky with a Golden Globe. Sandy Kominsky was briefly a successful actor in Hollywood. Now retired, Sandy has become a much revered acting coach. Meanwhile, his best friend and agent Norman recently lost his wife to cancer and struggles with her loss. The longtime friends face challenges they never expected late in life such as love, pain, loss and the eternal job of being a parent.

As her obsession comes to a head Dan realizes saving his life and his family is more important than hiding his adultery.
Wall Street (1987)

The one that Michael won the Oscar. Michael Douglas’ portrayal of Wall Street sleaze Gordon Gecko earned him a well deserved Academy Award for Best Actor. Both Douglas’s and Sheen’s portrayal of their characters were so emphatic, they have been credited for why many stockbrokers in the ’80s and ’90s chose to become stockbrokers. This generation equivalent would be actor Leonardo Di Caprio for his portrayal of Jordan Belfort in The Wolf of Wall Street.
Bud Fox is working as a junior stockbroker in the city of New York. Wishing to be mentored by his hero the legendary broker Gordon Gekko, he entices Gekko with providing insider trading. As Fox learns more about the schemes and dealing of the stockbroker world he becomes embroiled in Gekkos scheme and threatens his own families business. With his loyalties test Bud Fox must make a choice that will change his life forever.
Basic Instinct (1992)

It’s incredible to think what was controversial in the early ’90s would be considered tame today. We don’t need to go into detail as to what is the iconic moment as you all know exactly what we’re speaking *crosses legs*. Douglas played a fantastic role in the film but it was actress Sharon Stone that stole the show.
Detective Nick Curran is investigating the brutal murder of a rock star with crime novelist Catherine Tramell the prime suspect in the case. Beautiful, seductive and mysterious, she seduces Detective Curran into an intense and physical relationship. The controversial murder only gets more complicated when Detective Curran’s love and psychologist Beth Garner also becomes a suspect in the case.
The Game (1997)

Out of all the films David Fincher has created over his career, The Game is perhaps one of the films less spoken of. Caught between 2 excellent titles such as Seven and Fight Club you can be forgiven if you never realized that The Game was another Fincher film. The film received a mixed reception upon its release but if you’re a fan of both Fincher and Douglas you are certain to love it.
Investment Banker Nicholas Van Orton is presented with a gift from his estranged birthday Conrad on his 48th Birthday. Givevoucherouvher for the ‘Game’ Conrad promises Nicholas that his life will be changed forever. Harmless at first, it isn’t long before the game becomes sinister and Nicholas life is in danger.
Don’t Say a Word (2001)

Starring the late Brittany Murphy her role and acting was considered to be one of the best aspects Don’t Say a Word. Sadly the rest of the film wasn’t received that well and not even Michael Douglas could save the film from the critics.
When the daughter of therapist Nathan Conrad is held to ransom, he must coax a number code from the mind of a mute teenager, Elisabeth.
The American President (1995)

The film was very well received by critics and received a number of nominations at Golden Globes that year. Unfortunately, the film would not go onto win any accolades but the film has been credited by the American Film Institute as 75th on the list of America’s Greatest Love Stories. Ant-Man (2015)

Another rite of passage for actors in Hollywood is taking a role in Superhero films. Michael Douglas obliged by portraying the original Ant-Man Hank Pym in the 2015 movie Ant-Man. Douglas would later reprise his role as Hank Pym in the 2017 sequel Ant-Man and The Wasp.
Released from prison, former convict Scott Lang doesn’t want to steal anymore. But when the promise of a final big score could help him retire he attempts to steal from scientist Hank Pym. When its revealed the failed robbery was Hank’s means to recruit Scott, Scott soon takes on the mantle of the Ant-Man. The miniature hero must now prevent Douglas’ former protege Cross from perfecting the same technology and selling it to the highest bidder.
