3 years fans have been waiting for the third season. And, my how time has flown by. It’s been a long wait for fans for the highly anticipated third season and not much info has been released during the series sabbatical. So let us help. Here’s everything we know so far on the third season of Knights of Sidonia.
Knights of Sidonia is a Netflix Original anime based on the manga of the same name by author Tsutomu Nihei. The anime was the very first of Netflix’s now multiple Original anime series. While the series is a not full ‘Original’ Netflix did acquire the exclusive license to stream the series worldwide.
Thousands of years in the future, Humanity has fled planet Earth after it was destroyed by a race of shapeshifters known as the Guana. Mankind fled on hundreds of ships but the only known ship with possibly the last remnants of humanity aboard is the Sidonia. When the Guana attack the Sidonia it is up to pilot Nagate Tankikaze and his fellow pilots to save the day.
How many manga chapters will the third season of Knights of Sidonia cover?
The source material that the anime draws its inspiration from has covered roughly 43 of the 78 chapters available. Now the timeline of events has been changed around for the anime but most of the remaining source material has been followed closely.
So depending on how many seasons the studio wishes to produce there is easily enough content for 2 or 3 more seasons. Therefore the next season of Knights of Sidonia is likely to cover roughly 12 to 14 Chapters.

Where is the production of the third season of Knights of Sidonia up to?
The last news heard on anything to do with Knights of Sidonia was back when news broke a third series had been ordered. Since the announcement further news has been barren. If the series has been in production since late 2017 then news on season 3 could drop at any time.

Is there a trailer for season 3 of Knights of Sidonia?
Sadly there isn’t a trailer or teaser just yet. It can be expected that we’ll get a trailer when the release of the show is imminent.
When is the release date for season 3 of Knights of Sidonia?
The series will arrive in Japan first before it comes to Netflix. Typically anime seasons start either in around April or May. Once the full season has aired in Japan, Netflix will stream the anime within weeks. If we go by the April Japan air dates we could see a release as early as July 2019.
There isn’t an official release date as of yet, so the above is merely speculation for now. Considering the production of the anime has gone on for some time now the third season could drop sometime in 2019.
