The CBS drama Elementary is now well into its sixth season. In case you’re looking to either catch up on the previous six seasons or watch future seasons, then Netflix may not be the best location as we’ll discuss below.
Now running for six years, the procedural drama is based on the Sherlock Holmes novels. It’s the only American show currently based on the novel but the British also have their own adaptation in the form of Sherlock. Both shows have their own merits and Elementary continues to be succesful for CBS.
Jonny Lee Miller plays the leading role as detective Sherlock Holmes and is joined by Dr Joan Watson played by Lucy Lui on cases often involving complex riddles which Sherlock has to solve.
As you’ve probably guessed by now, Elementary isn’t on Netflix in most English speaking regions. Let’s take a look at each region below and why you can’t stream it.
Why isn’t Elementary on Netflix US?
In the United States where the streaming war is well and alive, Netflix only manages to get a handful of CBS shows and sadly, Elementary isn’t one of them.
The reason for this is because CBS and Hulu have an exclusive arrangement whereby all the new and old episodes stream there exclusively. You can also catch up using CBS All Access and the CBS website but only the previous 5 episodes can be found there.
Why isn’t Elementary on Netflix UK?
Over in the United Kingdom, most to all of CBS’s shows can be found on NowTV which is owned by Sky. Most of the shows air first on either Sky One or Sky Atlantic before appearing on the NowTV streaming service.
What regions are streaming Elementary?
Most of Europe and South America are streaming at least four seasons. This is according to UNOGs and as always, everything is correct as of the time of publishing.
