The Sinner has become a Netflix Original in many regions of the world but will season 1 of The Sinner from USA Network be coming to Netflix in the US? We take a look plus we’ll also look at whether and when season 2 will be coming to Netflix.
Netflix has made some massive purchases this year from the US besides its Netflix Original lineup. It’s snagged titles from CBS, AMC and ABC and exclusively aired them on regions such as Netflix UK where they either drop weekly or exclusively in a big dump.
The crime drama series stars Jessica Biel, Christopher Abbott, Dohn Norwood and Bill Pullman is a supposed limited-run series bringing to life the novel of the same name by Petra Hammesfahr. So far, the series has already been nominated for multiple awards.
Is Season 1 of The Sinner on Netflix US?
To find out if and when The Sinner is coming to Netflix, we have to look at the networks other shows which isn’t a great start. USA Network has removed much of their content from Netflix recently with Psych leaving last year for example. Other big titles like Mr Robot have exclusive deals away from Netflix.
With all of that said, the series has yet to be dropped on rival streaming networks which usually bid out Netflix in the hopes to get the show exclusively. Add to this that there’s an exclusive arrangement in other Netflix regions, the likelihood of it being added to Netflix US is high.
All of that means we’d likely see season 1 of The Sinner drop on Netflix US in summer 2018 before any possible season 2.
When will season 2 be on Netflix?

In case you didn’t know the series was pegged and still is called a mini-series by USA Network meaning much like recent titles such as Godless, we probably won’t be seeing another series anytime soon.

With that said, the cast remains more positive about the possibility of coming back. Speaking to EW, Jessica Biel said: “Initially, the show was genuinely conceived as a limited series so it was a surprise to us as well that, with the amazing viewership and the incredible journey that this show has taken, it was even a possibility to come back.”
Should the series return, it’d likely be next summer and Netflix UK, Australia and the Netherlands would all get them in one dump likely in the fall or soon after the series finishes airing.
