If you use Netflix to watch Bob’s Burger then these are trying times at the series future on the service looks to be in jeopardy with the entire collection being scheduled from removal in May. Let’s take a look as to what’s going on.
Just a quick overview of the show in case you’re not familiar. The FOX channel, which is famous for its animated sitcoms like The Simpsons, Family Guy, American Dad and Futurama created a brand new show surrounding a burger joint. It sounds boring in practice but it’s one of the most clever animated sitcoms on Netflix and will be sorely missed.
Bob’s Burgers Timeline on Netflix
Here’s a bit of a timeline to where we’re at right now.
- 09/15/2014: Seasons 1 – 3 added to Netflix US
- 04/01/2015: Season 4 Added
- 04/01/2016: Season 5 Added
- 04/01/2017: Seasons 3-5 Removed
- 05/07/2017: Seasons 1-2 Removed
Up until 2017, the series was getting renewed on an annual basis. In fact, we were due a new season sometime in April or next month in May. Instead, the series has been subject to leaving Netflix instead in both April and May.
It comes after a massive purge of other FOX content on April 1st including House, Firefly, Buffy the Vampire Slayer and more. What’s most surprising is that they only took off the last 3 seasons rather than all for Bob’s Burgers. Sadly, Netflix has confirmed that it won’t be renewing any of the shows on that list but some Fox shows like Family Guy, Glee and New Girl will be remaining on the service.
Is Bob’s Burgers leaving Netflix in May?
As of right now, the show has an expiration date of May 7th and given we’re in the last two seasons and the purge of the other Fox show we think this will be the ultimate departure of the show. That’s obviously sad but gives you a final opportunity to watch the show on Netflix.
It’s worth noting at this point that you’ll find a good portion of Bob’s Burgers on Hulu streaming.
