How I Met Your Mother Leaving Netflix

How I Met Your Mother is the next big show to be leaving Netflix and will be doing so in early November. The series aired on CBS from 2005 to 2014 and has been on Netflix for many years but that will come to an end thanks to a contract expiration.

HIMYM starred Neil Patrick Harris, Jason Segal, Cobie Smulders and Josh Radnor and is one of the highest rated comedy series of all time. Although the series arguably didn’t get the sendoff it deserved, it’s still much loved.

Now, although CBS aired the show it was first created and is since distributed by Fox. As you may have heard, Fox and Netflix’s contract (in the USA) came to a close in the summer and has since seen many Fox shows leave Netflix and will continue to into 2018.

The day How I Met Your Mother will be leaving is on November 13th, 2017. That means November 12th will be the last full day that Netflix will be streaming the show. More Fox shows leaving Netflix in November include Leverage, Cristela, and Legends.

Can HIMYM be saved?

Sadly not. Netflix and Fox have severed ties with few exceptions where their shows stay and all of them so far have been from the FX channel as opposed to Fox. American Horror Story and American Crime Story are the only two FX titles that have/will remain on the service.

Where can I stream How I Met Your Mother after it leaves Netflix?

Most to all of Fox’s shows will be moving over to Hulu where Fox owns a portion of the company. This makes sense and most of Fox’s shows have already made the transition. How I Met Your Mother has made the transition already with all 208 episodes now streaming there.
