House Md Returning To Netflix In Select Countries

For the past few years, House MD hasn’t been available on Netflix in any country as Universal Television, the ultimate owner of the show, decided to scale back its licensing to rivals like Netflix. That’s about to change, however, as many international regions are about to get House MD streaming either for the first time or again beginning from February 1st.

On the air from 2004 through 2012 on Fox, the ground-breaking eight-season medical drama starred Hugh Laurie as Dr. Gregory House, a medical genius operating in a hospital in New Jersey. He leads a team of talented diagnosticians looking into strange illnesses that come through the hospital’s doors.

This news shouldn’t come as a huge shock as we have already reported that House MD will be coming to Netflix in select regions, among other shows like Parenthood, NCIS, and others, just a few weeks back.

Netflix told us at the time that the series would be rolling out slowly and coming only to select countries, including select European and Latin American regions like Brazil and Argentina. They also stated that select regions in Africa and the Middle East would get them, too, plus Australia and New Zealand.

In addition to those, for House MD, we can also confirm that Netflix Canada is among the regions currently set to get the show.

When will House MD be on Netflix? We’ve learned that most of these regions will receive all eight show seasons by February 1st, 2024. Netflix France, in addition to the notification within the Netflix app, confirmed the addition via their social channels.

House MD isn’t coming to Netflix in the United States or the United Kingdom

Two regions we can currently rule out getting House MD is the United States. The show was once available there but was ultimately removed in both countries in April 2017. In the case of the UK, the show had been streaming on Netflix for three years.

The good news is that House is widely available elsewhere on other streamers. Prime Video, Hulu, and Peacock are all currently streaming all eight seasons.

The show is only available on Prime Video in the United Kingdom as of the time of publishing.

That said, don’t rule out the possibility of the show coming to Netflix US or UK later down the road.

As we’ve been extensively covering, this is just one of many licensed shows making their way back onto Netflix. From Universal Television in the United States, we’re scheduled to get both Monk and Brooklyn Nine-Nine in February 2024.
