When Will Fisk Season Be On Netflix

The Australian comedy series Fisk will be returning for a third season on ABC in Australia, but its fate on Netflix internationally and in Australia has yet to be determined.

Netflix first acquired the rights to the Australian comedy back in August 2023, and it hit the Netflix top 10s. By that point, season 2 had already aired in Australia, and it took Netflix just a few months to pick up the second season, with all six episodes dropping on December 1st, 2023.

The confirmation of a third season came last month via a press release on ABC stating that cameras were rolling on the Kitty Flanagan-led series.

“Having captured the hearts and funny bones of millions of Australians,” reads the press release, adding, “the laugh-out-loud series returns, along with cast favorites Julia Zemiro, Marty Sheargold, and Aaron Chen.”

The release provides some hints at what’s to come with Helen, now a partner at Gruber & Fisk, leading to new responsibilities and pressures in her day-to-day job and moving into her new home when she manages to get off on the wrong foot with her new neighbor. Roz is expected to undergo a midlife crisis in the forthcoming season.

“I’m delighted to be back in the brown suit and on set with all of my favorite funny people. This is such a fun show to make and we have got our fingers crossed that everyone loves it.” Flanagan said about the renewal.

Fisk Season 3 Not Yet Confirmed to Come to Netflix

Although we got a rough release date for Fisk on Australian screens (it’ll air in late 2024 on ABC TV and ABC iview), Netflix hasn’t confirmed whether it’ll carry the new season yet, although we suspect it will continue to pick up new seasons.

We reached out to numerous parties connected to the show who could not confirm the current plans for international sales for the show.

We’re still waiting on information from one such party and will update this post should we learn more.

In any case, should Netflix pick up the show, we’re expecting season 3 only to come after it’s wrapped up airing and currently predicting some time in 2025.

How well has Fisk performed on Netflix?

To date, the show has featured in the Netflix TV top 10s in at least 17 countries, with some of the top-performing countries including:

  • Australia (45 days in the top 10s)
  • New Zealand (42 days in the top 10s)
  • Ireland (29 days in the top 10s)
  • Canada (22 days in the top 10s)
  • Iceland (18 days in the top 10s)

The show has also been featured on the United States and United Kingdom TV Top 10s for 15 days each.

When the title was first added, the show also starred in the global top 10s. Fisk Season 1 garnered 4.9M viewing hours globally in the one week it was in the Netflix top 10s, equating to 1,800,000 total views.
