Eve Ridley Joins The Witcher Blue Eye Samurai

3 Body Problem breakout actress has boarded the second season of Netflix’s critically acclaimed and award-winning adult animation series Blue Eye Samurai, which is currently in production for its second season. Plot details for season 2 of Blue Eye Samurai are currently slim, but we know that the 13-year-old actress will be playing the role of Sarah.

For most, Ridley will be best known for her breakout role in 3 Body Problem from David Benioff and D.B. Weiss. In that series, she played a leading role as “Follower” across multiple episodes, helping the game’s players navigate the virtual world. Other prior roles include a spot on the British TV staple Casualty, voicing in Peppa Pig, and playing a role in Les Misérables.

As previously confirmed, Ridley will also play a vital role in the upcoming season of The Witcher

Our friends at Redanian Intelligence have previously spoken about her role in that it’ll be the bridge from transitioning from Henry Cavill over to Liam Hemsworth, who will take over the role of Geralt for season 4 and the final fifth season, which has just entered production

In The Witcher Season 4, the show will introduce Nimue, a character from Andrzej Sapkowski’s novels, known as the Lady of the Lake. She lives decades after Geralt, Yennefer, and Ciri’s time, when their stories have become legendary and told in many different versions. This narrative device will explain the change in Geralt’s appearance—from Henry Cavill to Liam Hemsworth—as just another version of the tale.

Stribog, a wandering storyteller played by Game of Thrones actor Clive Russell, will recount these stories to Nimue in the season’s opening scene. This setup is inspired by a moment from the Baptism of Fire novel, where Stribog tells the legends to a young Nimue and other children. While the older Nimue (obsessed with uncovering the truth of the legends) may appear in future seasons, Season 4 will focus on the younger version.

The storytelling scene is expected to serve as the framing device for reintroducing Geralt. Though the show might revisit Stribog and Nimue throughout the season, it’s most likely limited to the beginning.

The news of Eve Ridley joining season 2 of Blue Eye Samurai comes after it was confirmed that John Aoshima, who recently worked on Ultraman: Rising for Netflix, has boarded the second season as a director in addition to Jane Wu retaining directing duties from season 1.

Stagebox Management reps Eve Ridley.

The Witcher season 4 will return to our screens in 2025, while Blue Eye Samurai season 2 isn’t expected to return until 2026.
