Netflix will be releasing a brand new documentary on anime which will also be covering some of its anime properties. Called ‘Enter the Anime’ it’ll see a relative novice to the art form introduced to all manner of anime titles. Here’s what we know so far.
Details on the show are fairly limited at the moment but we do know a few of the shows they’ll touch on plus who is presenting it.
Here’s how Netflix describes the movie:
Seeking to understand anime, Tania Nolan interviews filmmakers behind notable productions from “Castlevania” to “Aggretsuko,” “Kengan Ashura” and more.
Aimed at newcomers to anime, it will help give an understanding of the history of the art form. Avid anime fans will still want to check out the series given the exclusive interviews it manages to obtain.
Among the anime featured in the show are some of Netflix’s biggest anime titles such as Castlevania, Aggretsuko and Kengang Ashura. In the description, it says we can expect interviews with the creators of these shows meaning we’d expect to hear from Adi Shankar, Warren Ellis who is behind Castlevania, Seiji Kishi and Makoto Uezu behind Kengan Ashura and Rarecho behind Aggketsuko.
Other names that are pegged to be involved include Kozo Morishita who is behind Netflix’s Saint Seiya series, Yoko Takahashi behind the Neon Genesis Evangelion soundtrack and Shinji Aramaki who has worked on Fullmetal Alchemist.
When will Enter the Anime be on Netflix?
At the moment, Netflix has pegged the release of ‘Enter the Anime’ for release on Netflix for August 5th, 2019 with a global release.
Enter the Anime is releasing in an absolutely stacked month for Netflix Original titles.
