Burn Notice Netflix Removal

USA Network’s Burn Notice will be leaving Netflix in the US on February 15th according to our leaving soon sensors. It’ll mean that all seven seasons of the show are removed at once. The series will leave for a brutal month for Netflix as it removes many much-loved series.

Netflix has been hemorrhaging some massive series as of late mainly due to Fox removing their library. We have slowly been seeing USA Network’s library taken away though. This included Psych which left Netflix late last year.

As USA Network promotes the show it is a ‘sexy, action-packed’ series where a spy who is formerly blacklisted gets back into action to help people. It’s based on a comic book series of the same name. In all, the series managed to release 111 episodes plus a full-length movie.

This removal only applies to Netflix US as it’s the only region currently streaming the show.

Why is Burn Notice leaving?

In short, Netflix isn’t looking to renew the show. Netflix operates most contract with various networks on a one or several year contract. When these come up for renewal Netflix must make the decision as to whether it’s worth their money to keep the series streaming. In recent years, Netflix has given preference to newer shows and given Burn Notice has been off the air for a few years, Burn Notice probably doesn’t provide a good return on investment.

Where will you be able to stream Burn Notice?

A new home hasn’t been announced for Burn Notice. Obviously, you’ve got all the rental options through outlets like Amazon, Google Play, and iTunes. If we had to guess where the new streaming home would be, it’d be Hulu. That’s where Psych ended up and we guess a similar deal will be struck for ‘Burn Notice’ too.
