Netflix US is set to be the streaming home for the recently released and beloved Boiling Point series that aired on the BBC in the United Kingdom. Our understanding is that the series is due to arrive on Netflix in the US in full from April 29th, 2024.
In 2021, Vertigo Releasing released the single-shot British drama Boiling Point, which followed a busy kitchen in London. Stephen Graham, Vinette Robinson, and Hannah Walters all starred in the feature film, which was released to critical acclaim.
Fast-forward a couple of years, and the BBC had announced it would be producing a miniseries with Graham, Robinson, and Walters returning to their roles but with the plot set six months after the movie. Four episodes make up the first season, which aired in the UK in October 2023, with the plot revolving around head chef Carly and her team working in a new restaurant in Point North.
The Guardian was overwhelmingly positive about the series in their review, calling it “British TV at its finest” and adding that it has a ” brilliant script, a phenomenal cast, and some absolutely beautiful filming.”
As mentioned, the cast features Stephen Graham, who headlined Netflix’s Bodies in 2023. Just recently, it was announced that he would be starring in a new British project called Adolescence. One Piece actor Taz Skylar can also be seen in the series, with other cast members including Steven Ogg, Ray Panthaki, Áine Rose Daly, Daniel Larkai, Gary Lamont, Hannah Traylen, and Stephen McMillan.
This will be the first significant licensing pickup from the BBC in quite some time. While the two companies do co-produce lots of content and share distribution on select titles, most of the BBC’s licensed content has departed and found alternative streaming homes in recent years.
Boiling Point is one of three licensing pickups for Netflix in April 2024 in the United States. Other titles include Sex and the City from HBO (scheduled for April 1st) and the Starz series Black Sails, which is due out on April 17th.

The original 2019 movie Boiling Point won’t be coming to Netflix alongside the series next month. Per JustWatch, however, you currently have several other free streaming options.
