Netflix is getting a brand new DC show produced by DC and distributed by the CW Network. Season 1 of Black Lightning is coming to UK Netflix weekly starting on the 23rd of January. The show is also set to be coming to US Netflix in the near future. Below, you’ll find everything we currently know about the show and a release schedule.

In the wake of many US Networks like Fox, taking titles away from Netflix and directing them to other streaming sites like Hulu. DC comes to the rescue with their new Action, Sci-Fi show Black Lightning. Based on the DC comic of the same name, the show stars Cress Williams as a School principal who hung up his superhero identity years ago to protect his family. But due to the new and very real threat of a local gang, Jefferson Pierce once again takes up the name of Black Lightning in order to take the fight to them.

When do new episodes of Black Lightning come to Netflix?
This applies to the UK and other regions which carry Black Lightning exclusively
Black Lightning first aired on The CW on January 16th and in UK Netflix on the 23rd of January, one week after the initial debut. The show will follow a similar release pattern to most CW shows on Netflix.
Each episode will air on a Tuesday in America, with this being mirrored by UK Netflix, but a week later. The 13th and last episode of season 1 will become available to stream in exclusive regions of Netflix on the 17th of April.

When will Black Lightning season 1 be on Netflix in the United States?
Now, regarding Netflix in the US. Black Lightning, unfortunately, won’t be getting weekly episodes, unlike the UK. But it isn’t all bad news; as due to a new deal with Netflix, The CW is able to bring shows across to the US streaming service a lot faster than it used to. In the past, you’d have to wait something like a whole year but now you will only have to wait a week after the show has finished airing.
From this new deal, we can estimate that US Netflix will be getting their hands on the first season of Black Lightning in late April 2018.
