We’re about to get another batch of episodes for Netflix’s cooking competition series Barbecue Showdown. If you’d rather go from watching to competing, Netflix is now looking for contestants for season 4 of the series.

On our screens since September 2020, the show pits eight contestants against each other to see who will be crowned the American Barbecue Champion and rewarded with a $50,000 prize, cooking up meats in different styles and often being tasked with odd challenges.

Numerous casting notices have been distributed across social media that are looking for applicants for future show seasons.

“Do you think you are the best backyard or competitive barbecue in America?” reads the ad, “The producers of Netflix’s Barbecue Showdown are taking casting submissions for potential future season contestants.”

Season 3 of the show, which sees the return of Michelle Buteau as the host, is set to debut with eight brand new episodes just in time for the United States Independence Day (July 4th, 2024). Kevin Bludso and Melissa Cookston are judges on the series.

Contestants for season 3 include:

  • Gerald Vinnett, Jr., Destrehan, LA
  • Kareem El-Ghayesh, Austin, TX
  • Kent Rollins, Hollis, OK
  • Luis Rivera, Springfield, IL
  • Melissa Pappas, Orlando, FL
  • Shaticka Robinson, Smyrna, TN
  • Sloan Rinaldi, Houston, TX
  • Staci Graves Jett, Brooksville, KY
  • Tung Nguyen, New Orleans, LA

If you fancy your chances and want to register for the fourth season, you can apply using the form here (this link may go down in the future once casting has concluded), but remember you need to be a US citizen and be at least 18 years old.

Maverick Television and All3Media America are behind Barbecue Showdown, with Daniel Calin, John Hesling, Simon Knight, and Tim Pastore serving as executive producers.

Other reality competition series coming back for new seasons in the near future include Outlast Season 2, Zombieverse Season 2, Drink Masters Season 2, and Glow Up Season 6.

When approached for a comment, the Netflix rep for Barbecue Showdown, as when we were reporting on the season 3 renewal, did not respond.

Are you looking forward to Barbecue Showdown season 4? Will you be applying to star yourself? Let us know in the comments.
