At the beginning of 2025, Netflix began rolling out new episodes of the hit anime series My Happy Marriage. Everything went smoothly from its start on January 6, 2025, until mid-March, when it was discovered that production delays meant the release of the final episodes (episodes 12 and 13, or 25 and 26, if you’re going by the Japanese labeling) had been pushed back.
Some reports had suggested that the new episodes, which were delayed from their initial release date of March 24th, would potentially be released on March 31st, with the season finale following a week later on April 6th, but that turned out not to be the case.
In a press release this morning, Kadokawa emailed the press, stating that the release dates for the final two episodes have now been confirmed after an extended delay. They said:
“Thank you for your continued support of My Happy Marriage Season 2.
We are happy to inform you that Episodes 25 and Episode 26 (last episode) will be available for global streaming on Netflix from April 25, 2025 (Thursday) at 23:00 JST.
Both episodes will be released simultaneously.We appreciate your patience and support.
We hope you enjoy the emotional conclusion to the season.”
Following that up with a post this morning, Netflix’s Anime account said:
“My Happy Marriage Episode Release Schedule
Episodes 12 and 13 of My Happy Marriage Season 2 will be released on April 25.
We thank you for your patience and understanding, and apologize for the delay.”
Delays with anime releases aren’t new, but are rare for Netflix, given that they traditionally release all episodes of a series at once. In the past few years, we’ve seen more simulcasts from Netflix, where most delays are related to dubbing, which can often follow a few weeks after the episodes in their original Japanese language on Netflix.
For those unfamiliar with the critically acclaimed anime My Happy Marriage, it’s based on the Japanese light novel series written by Akumi Agitogi and illustrated by Tsukiho Tsukioka, published by KADOKAWA in Japan.
