There’s already a growing and long list of departures for the Netflix library in July 2024, here are some of the movies you must watch before they leave Netflix at the end of June.

As a quick note, we list titles for the actual day of removal. If you want to watch any movie leaving on July 1st, your last full day to watch will be June 30th.

In total, seven movies from Wes Craven’s A Nightmare on Elm Street will leave Netflix in June;

  6. Wes Craven’s New Nightmare (1994)
  7. A Nightmare on Elm Street (2010)

Freddy Kreuger is one of the most iconic villains in horror movies, and Robert Englund’s portrayal of the nightmarish murderer is just as beloved. While some of the franchise’s films have questionable quality, at the very least, seven movies leaving the Netflix library from the same franchise is always a sad day for subscribers.

Winner of eight Academy Awards, including Best Director, Best Picture, Best Writing, and Best Actor in a Leading Role, Milos Forman’s Amadeus is a must-see for anyone who has never seen it. It should be added to your watch list now before it departs the Netflix library.

Lead actors Tom Hulce and F. Murray Abraham were phenomenal in their roles, and arguably both deserved to win the Oscar for Best Actor. However, Antonio Salieri and F. Murray Abraham had the last laugh over Tom Hulce and Mozart, narrowly winning the award over his co-star.

Anyone who grew up throughout the 80s will cringe at Footloose being referred to as an 80s “classic,” but 40 years on since the film hit theatres worldwide, it’s still beloved. The less said about the reboot, the better, but Footloose will forever be a great story of youthful rebellion.

With Disney and Dreamworks dominating the animated space, Hotel Transylvania was the beginning of Sony stepping up its animated content output in the early 2010s. The cast of Hotel Transylvania has tons of chemistry, which shouldn’t surprise anyone when the vast majority have starred alongside Adam Sandler (Dracula) in numerous Happy Maddison Productions titles.

Kill Bill is Quentin Tarantino’s homage to the Spaghetti Westerns, Grindhouse Cinema, Blaxploitation, and Samurai movies he watched growing up. Originally, Kill Bill had a runtime of over four hours and was just one movie, but splitting the film into two volumes meant Tarantino didn’t have to cut any scenes from the final edit.

Don’t be surprised if Kill Bill finds its way back to the Netflix library soon.

A24’s slasher franchise X is a throwback to the likes of the iconic horror franchise Texas Chainsaw Massacre and stars Mia Goth and Wednesday star Jenna Ortega. Fans of slasher horrors should not pass on watching X before it leaves the Netflix library at the end of June.
