It’s time for another weekly look ahead at what’s coming up on Netflix over the next seven days. This we’ve got a bit of everything: more licensed series with many episodes, a big Netflix Original summer movie, and a mix of other titles worldwide. Here’s everything scheduled to hit Netflix US between May 20th and May 26th.
This week, we should be getting the complete rundown of what’s coming up on Netflix throughout June 2024, but until then, we’ve got the most comprehensive list on the net so far! There’s also plenty still to come in the final few days of May 2024, including the recently confirmed Showtime series Your Honor.
If you missed our roundup of new titles for last week, you can find a list of all 25 new arrivals here. One title we missed out on because it dropped today (Sunday) was the Lionsgate movie A Simple Favour, which we suspect will do quite well in the top 10s. That movie comes from Paul Feig and is headlined by Blake Lively and Anna Kendrick. It is about a single mom striking up a relationship with a mysterious woman.
Most Anticipated New Releases on Netflix This Week
Act Your Age (Season 1)
Coming to Netflix: Wednesday
The short-lived comedy sitcom from Bounce TV that aired in 2023 will make its Netflix debut this week. All episodes of the first season will air in the middle of the week.
Created by Alyson Fouse, the series follows three women in the prime of their lives. The cast features Kym Whitley, Tisha Campbell, and Yvette Nicole Brown.
Tires (Season 1) Netflix Original
Coming to Netflix: Thursday
Shane Gillis is on another level of fame right now. He’s dominated TikTok and other social media feeds for months, and he’ll be putting the rubber to the road this week with a brand new scripted comedy series that began as a self-funded pilot.
In the series, you follow Will (played by Steven Gerben), the nervous and unqualified heir to an auto repair chain, who attempts to turn his father’s business around despite constant torture from his cousin and now employee, Shane (played by Gillis).
The trailer has scored 1.9M views so far, so this could be a hit – watch this space.
Atlas (2024)
Coming to Netflix: Friday
Jennifer Lopez is back with her second major project with Netflix (and it won’t be the last). She plays the role of Atlas Shepherd in this new sci-fi movie about a data analyst who joins a mission to capture a renegade robot against the backdrop of a global war for humanity’s survival.
According to Nielsen, The Mother was the fifth biggest movie on streaming in 2023, and Netflix will surely be hoping to hit gold again with Atlas.
