Most Anticipated New Releases on Netflix This Week
Ultraman: Rising
Coming to Netflix: Friday
Last week, we saw a huge amount of announcements when it comes to upcoming Netflix Original animation projects but the fun continues this week with the long-awaited release of Ultraman: Rising which drops on Friday.
Here’s what you can expect:
“With Tokyo under siege from rising monster attacks, baseball star Ken Sato reluctantly returns home to take on the mantle of Ultraman. But the titanic superhero meets his match when he reluctantly adopts a 35-foot-tall, fire-breathing baby kaiju. Sato must rise above his ego to balance work and parenthood while protecting the baby from forces bent on exploiting her for their own dark plans.”
Playing in a few select theaters, this film looks and sounds spectacular and is easily one of Netflix’s most ambitious animated feature films to date. We’ll have more coverage throughout the week, including an interview with the two directors.
Bridgerton (Season 3 – Part 2)
Coming to Netflix: Thursday
Just a few short weeks after the first half of season 3 dropped on Netflix, we’re now due to get the remaining episodes (episodes 5 through 8) that continue where the last part left off, continuing the Polin story.
Welcome to Marwen (2018)
Coming to Netflix: Sunday
One of the movies we picked out as the best to come to Netflix in June 2024 is this Steve Carell-led biopic that’ll put you through an emotional rollercoaster when it drops next weekend.
The story revolves around Mark Hogancamp, who is on the road to recovery following an assault that wipes most of his memories. To help aid his recovery, he creates a miniature Belgian town that becomes a World War II pilot.
It comes from the director of Forrest Gump, and although it didn’t score too well with critics, I think this movie is aging well and look forward to seeing how it performs after it drops.
